Default Popcorn Ceiling Repair in Garage

The drywall mud at a tape joint has failed and now I have popcorn ceiling falling on the car .I know the best solution would be to remove the popcorn ceiling but it is in the garage but I want to go cheap!
I am looking for someone to do the repair and paint the entire garage.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

We had a great experience with a painter James Rockholt who is a Village resident 603 391-6658. I'm sure he can advise you. Popcorn ceiling? If, it is in fact a popcorn ceiling, I'm no expert BUT I don't think that has been done since the 70s and some has asbestos in it. Causing a failure? Roof leaking? Condensation?

The first half of your fourth sentence prior to BUT is true. The second half is not.

I have the same thing happening. My house was built in 2000 (30 years after 1970) for the people who think they stopped sooner. The problem (mine anyway) is it's on a joint with no blocking. Trusses run one way and that joint the other way and it's close to door opener motor. I just live with it for now. If I repair it I will get up in the attic and put in some 2X4 blocking first. You're correct..... IT'S A GARAGE. Good luck
