I agree with you. Look at how some IDIOTS tailgate other cars in. If the gates were not there to slow down the traffic there would be many more accidents.

In addition to enabling safe golf-cart and neighborhood traffic, I think the gates deter crime. Criminals like fast getaways. Gates impede fast getaways.

I agree the gates serve no service as a deterrent but, as someone has already pointed out, without the gates cart crossing would be very dangerous.
We need the gates but the gate cards are superfluous.

Default Tired of a wet arm

Is anybody else tired of sticking your arm out the window during the pouring down rain getting water all over your controls on your door to open a gate?? How about rolling down your window and letting all of your air conditioning fly out the window?? I have been looking for a booster for my gate pass that would allow me to hold my card up to the drivers window and activate the gate. I contacted the makers of the cards and was given a new type of card that has a battery in it that boosts the signal up to 5 feet. Would not active the other gate used for visitors, but will keep me and my car dry. Has anybody bought one of these cards and will TV active it for me??

This would be great for motorcycle riders who have to stop and shift to neutral in order to free up left hand.
