Default Gate on Pinellas near the Pinellas shopping plaza.

I was riding my bicycle to the Pinellas Library the other day. I got to the gate on Pinellas trying to leave. The gate wouldn't open for me and I couldn't get around the outside of the gate, either. Usually the gates have enough room for a biker to go around the edge near the curb.

I wonder if there are other gates in TV like this, so I will be aware of them.

For Pinellas there is a sidewalk on the other side. I've never had a problem on my bike with any gate. Maybe you were to far to the right and the gizmo that makes it open doesn't see you over there.

Very interesting point, I think Village Public Safety 352-205-8280 handles the gates, you might give them a call.

You are waiting for the traffic to stop to walk the bike across the street and lift it onto the sidewalk.

You're right call the phone number.

you can usually see the ovoid outline of the sensor in the ground, did you go over it or were you on the extreme right, thus missing the 'switch'?

Yes there are other gates. If you want them to respond to your presence then you must ride closer to the center. If you don't want to do that then dismount and walk around.
