Open up. If you are afraid, stay home or do whatever you want. I will do whatever I want. Sick and tired of being cooped up and having my rights infringed upon. Good luck with the vaccine. Cannot even be certain it will work. Force me to take it? Try it.

Default Squares Reopening

People who might choose to sit at crowded squares with hundreds of other people should have to sign waivers saying they will not go to hospitals if they come down with Covid. It’s not right that poor decisions risk the lives of health care workers.

I doubt that that's a possibility but it does open the question of The Villages being sued if someone can prove that they caught the virus while attending an entertainment event at a square.

I agree with people being responsible for themselves but in our litigious society, I wouldn't be shocked to see this happen.

This can also be expanded to include someone who never went to the squares but has contracted the virus from someone who did.

As long as the CDC guidelines are in place, I think that The Villages has to be very careful.

Let’s give these guys the benefit of the doubt. I’m sure they aren’t opening this weekend. Before we crucify them let’s see their plan and then we are free to let them have it. I would rather see some progress that indicates it will come back then seeing them dismantle the drink shacks.

They could enforce social distancing with cattle prods set to " stun ".

I am for personal responsibility. If you are medically fragile stay home but for those of us that can wear masks and social distance, we should not be forced to stay cooped up like rabbits. For the person who said that the bars should open first - they are open and we have been enjoying music and entertainment in them. So why aren't the village squares open...?
“Forced to stay cooped up like rabbits.” You are being dramatic. Get an Alexa and tough it out.

Edna’s has been open with entertainment and it’s been wonderful. People are respectful of the social distancing. The fact that it’s a smaller venue than the squares certainly helps. People go more to listen to the music and relax. Would be nice if the squares could open with the same mindset. Not sure if it’s possible though.

Changed the soda dispensers to Coke. A good sign that an opening is in the works.

Alexa can be your friend ??? Boy, did you drink the kool-aid.
Alexa is nobody's friend. It listens to EVERYTHING YOU SAY. It only responds to your direct commands, but "big brother" hears it all. And if you don't believe it, then you are truly a "lemming".

On a brighter note, all those who enjoy Coca-Cola products will be able to enjoy them at the squares and at nearby restaurants. Ever notice that when you asked for a diet coke or coke the waiter/waitress asked if you would mind a Pepsi? Coke hasn't been available (allowed) here in the past.

Things are changing.
