Default Getting rid of moving boxes...

What do you do with 160 empty moving boxes after you move in?

How can I discover who can use [some or all of] them?
Otherwise, the only option I am aware of is to flatten them all and have the trash man pick them up.

freecycle.org -- great organization to keep things from taking up space in landfills when someone else could use them. There's a Lady Lake/Villages group and an Ocala group.

I could happily take about 20 of them off your hands since I will probably be packing up and moving from here in a few months.

YOU ARE WHAT? You are leaving? OH NO. It is rude to ask why, I know. Oh Red. I thought you were so happy here?

Redwitch - that really surprised me. Like Gracie, I don't want to be nosy, but what is happening?

Redwitch, I'm new to the villages and you are one of the people I'm looking forward to meeting.
I like your generosity of spirit so I am (selfishly) sorry to hear you may be leaving. >

I have been looking for free moving boxes up here in MA!! Ship them here! ;D Post them on www.craigslist.com under the "free stuff" header for your region.I've been looking for them here. I sure would like to not spend money on boxes, I don't need many as almost everything is "out the door" on an estate sale. Mostly personal stuff coming, little furniture.

Anxiously awaiting for a respose to adjustment on purchase price so we can go ahead on P & S on my house. Cannot take another winter up here!

Not leaving TV, just probably moving from this house. I originally rented and my lease is up in September. Thanks to my surgery, my plan to buy at the end of the lease is out of the window for a few years (just a delay, not a never type thing), so I'll be looking for a new long-term rental in TV. My landlord has offered to sell me this place but, honestly, I wouldn't want to buy it -- it is not well-maintained and there is a lot of work that needs to be done.

So, have no fear, folks! You guys are stuck with me even if I have to live in the Miata. Now that's a picture, me, two cats and STUFF in a Miata. 1rnfl 1rnfl 1rnfl

Redwitch, I'm also SO happy to know that you're not leaving TV. You are one of the people I so look forward to meeting. You're such a caring, and fun-loving person (from what I can get from your posts). We'll be full-timers as soon as our house sells - and I've been looking forward to meeting you at Crispers, some day soon! Glad to hear you'll be there!

Whew. Wiping my forehead. I have met you once in person, but I feel I truly know you, and when I think of my new life in TV, you are very much a part of it. I am so relieved you are not going away. OH. That is such good news!

Don't do that do me Red. I was away from the site until this morning and I read that Red is moving? Glad to hear that it is just to another TV home. I'm sure that some of your connections here on TOTV can suggest another long term rental.
