How many graduate paleoclimatology courses have you taken? My guess is that I have taken more. That's the science---the historical record of thousands of years and the extremely powerful forces of the sun, Earth's orbit and the changes in our axis---not your SUV emissions. What they are publishing and teaching now has way too much politics embedded within. If you are a professor of climatology at one of those major universities and apply for a grant to pursue your hypothesis that mankind has nothing to do with climate change, do you think you will get it? Do you think you'll get published??? Do you think you'll get tenure???? Disagreeing with the party line is tantamount to professional suicide.

Science and the global knowledge base has evolved and progressed since you took your last paleoclimatology course in 1927.

Even so think he is more knowledgable on Science that 99.9% of the people on here.

Rumor has it I am in the remaining 0.01%.

That's what Dr Frankenstein said, too.

There is little doubt that you have had more "formal" education than I. Good for you. But that is not the only kind of education that can matter in life. Nearly 80 years of world travel, exposure to other cultures, climates, scientific and practical knowledge. Don't denigrate the knowledge or expertise of someone because they don't have "Dr" infront of their name. That would just exposing one's arrogance.

So my question for anyone who understands weather patterns, am I correct in my understanding that the weather is changing? I considered Florida 10 years ago but I didn't think I could stand the summer heat. So now with these new weather patterns maybe I should re-consider Florida once again. Thank you. Marvin
Heat is still in Florida and very dry. Ponds are now at levels that are seen at end of the dry season(nov-may) This winter has not been this cold since 2010. Like you said it is a weather pattern. In meantime western US has had record warmth and low snow levels

And in 1948, it was, you guessed it, 72.3°. So much for "global warming"

Temperature - Florida Climate Center
Weather is still weather and since when is "global warming" based upon weather in Florida.

Probably ever since the climate alarmists on TOTV started using Florida as a microcosm of the rest of the world

There are no climate alarmists on TOTV. Just a few individuals that take serriously the mountains of evidence, gathered by the finest scientists and experts from around the world, that supports global warming/climate change. Caring folks who seriously and think we could be better stewards of the one and only planet that we can survive on.

Yeah, right. Mountains of evidence and "finest scientists", all on the payroll of government or academia, fueled by the media. How about what a senate committee found:

So your politician's opinion is better than the other politician's opinion?

From wikipedia: On the floor of the U.S. Senate, Republican Senator Jim Inhofe displayed a snowball—on 26 February 2015, in winter—as evidence the globe was not warming, in a year that was found to be Earth's warmest on record at the time.

About like stating there is no threat from hurricanes since we had none strike Florida this year.

Perhaps we should have politicians stick to what they do best (though they do it poorly) and let scientists report on science. And yes, if you throw enough spaghetti at the wall eventually you may find a piece that sticks but it is dishonest to ignore all the spaghetti laying on the floor.

It was NOT a "politician's opinion"-----IT WAS THE FINDINGS OF THE UNITED STATES SENATE COMMITTEE ON ENVIRONMENT AND PUBLIC WORKS. If you are looking for something that was a politician's opinion, may I refer you to Al Gore.

I agree with this part of your post, but do you have any scientific research that was NOT funded in any way by the U.S. Government?

That's kind of funny. We do need to stay away from politics.

I have also found academics disagree a great deal especially about areas where science has not been settled. Not much of a point to write an article or whatever on a topic that has already been deemed solved by the authorities.
