After registering on three different systems in Sumter County signed up in Lake County. Received call in two days and received first shoot in four days at the closed Sears store in Leesburg. Very organized flow. Inside, and it has bathrooms. Chairs in all waiting areas. Received shot from Leesburg EMT. Scheduled for second shot appointment for return. Sumter county needs new management in health department. My wife and I are both 82. Thanks, Lake County!

I agree - putting a vaccination site in an open field with possible downpours was not the best plan. I'm wondering if it will change in the future as rain scheduled all week here off and on - car ruts - haven't heard from the 5 cars that got stuck and had to be towed out. Yes Sumter - re think this. I am so glad I got 2nd shot Thursday and am so appreciative for the hard work the people giving the shots are doing. I'm sure they would have a lot of opinions.

If you returned in the afternoon ,then you would have joined the marathon session experienced by many. We joined the line in front of the Charter School at my wife's appt time of 3:30 . We finally turned the corner to go down the west side of the school, moving up five to 8 cars at a time ,hoping to see the vaccination tents in the rear.
Not so, the line formed all around the school sports complex then down to the high school. We, along with the others had no idea how long the actual line was and where they were doing the vaccinations.
Four and half hours later we reached the high school parking lot and the vaccination site. They had cancelled in the am due to the adverse conditions caused by the rain. Then they had to get permission to set up at the high school. Had it rained that location would have been closed. It was a long wait and everyone was surprisingly patient and respectful of the vaccination staff who had been on the feet long over 12 hours by that time. We left the site after a five hour marathon and there were at least another hour of recipients lined up behind us. Hopefully for her second shot next month ,things will be back to normal.

I, too, had a super good experience with Lake County. They are doing a bang up job on a daily basis. Watching Sumter County flail around week after week is eye opening. Clearly the county leaders have become incompetent, or they were to begin with.

They vaccinated until 9 PM last night. They are really working hard to make it work. The field location was very muddy. Redirected to the High School site. 2 PM appointment took until 6:32 PM to actually get the second shot. Both first and second shots were being given. Those who did not make their appointment received a reschedule date. Monday was mentioned as the reschedule date.
