No clue!

Wow! The Villages might be the best place ever for retirees. We don't have a lot of time left. We should enjoy every minute of every day. Especially here.

After viewing the Chitty Chatty Bridge, I happened to look at the Brownwood Bridge. I'm curious what is being built south of that(north of Fenney)? Although, I see lots of earth movement, I don't see an identified neighborhood on any of TV maps? Just green space, which seems odd for all that earth being moved? Any ideas? GWN?

Which bridge are you referring to?

We were one of the first to look at Pine area, rep explained the difference in Lake taxes. Then looked at the first models in Fenney, told us about Wildwood taxes.
In their meeting they were told there would be a square, oval, circle, at some point. But they had not given any concrete info, on when, and where. A championship, but no date on opening, shopping would come, when there was enough people to support the business.

Never been lied to, I am amazed everyday on how far we have grown, and what’s to come

We did not buy because of the pressure, we bought because we found exactly what we were looking for. But I have heard the tales and even overheard reps talking to perspective buyers using those same kind of lines. It is not an uncommon tactic and I have no reason to doubt folks who say they experienced it here or in other places. Sorry if I spoiled the illusion that TV reps might be different than other sales people. After all, if they don't keep up their production they will be looking for work somewhere else. It is what it is.

Oh I grow so tired of hearing this. It always makes me wonder what is behind these kinds of remarks. The Villages reps do not need to lie, to expound, to promise, to finagle, to SELL anything. People have been lined up to buy here for as long as I have been aware of this place which is more than a dozen years. I suppose it could be true that a Village rep may have got it wrong a time or two, but the truth is, they don't know a damned thing, are not a party to a bit of information before we, the general public know it. I have been told that by Jim McLaughlin who sold us the first house and the second house and who is someone we both trust and call friend. I can SEE it from the dozens of conversations I have had with friends and neighbors both here in the neighborhood we live now, Bridgeport at Laurel Valley and in the wonderful neighborhood we lived in originally here; Hadley. I have heard it from conversations with folks who are in the groups we belong to, and with all of the people we have played golf with over the years. I can also assume that some people who post on this forum do not live here but wish they did. That some people have an agenda that is at cross purposes with The Villages continuing to be the fastest growing adult community in the U.S.

NO. I don't work for the developer. I wish I could have met in person Gary Morse. I have seen Mark Morse at the "State of the Villages" address twice. I think this place is run very well and I see no reason to lie or embellish anything by the developers.

Wow. I feel better now.

Just a slight exaggeration, and don’t get me wrong, I like this place too, but where is this line of people?

So are you insinuating that the many people that have posted here that their agent told them there would be connectivity by spring 2020 are lying?

dewilson58 05-09-2020 07:52 PM

So in summary:

Some people were told "buy now, this is it"

Some people were told "connectivity by _______"

Some people were told "shops & stores by _______"

And some of these some people (appears to be a few) feel they were lied to.
These some of some can be happy or be mad.
If mad, they can leave or stay and they can sue or not sue.
If leave, they will make a profit on their house.
If sue, they need to show financial losses or mental anguish.
Financial lost?? Cost of short ride to promised stores vs. existing stores???
Not sure how some of some will determine MA.

What did I miss in the above summary??

This topic is old and will not be settled on ToTV.

We should bring it to a constructive conclusion so everyone knows their options and can move forward.

Aren't they placing the bridges right now?? This is May...………….Not far off from Spring.

I don't know what the agents told anyone. I know that on this forum and all social media we have a lot of rumors, incorrect statements, exaggerations and plain ole fibs. I say they don't have to promise anything to get a sale.

Really? You know that placing a bridge over the state hwy is FAR from golf cart connectivity. Lame try. I think the folks that went through the sales process know more about it than you do.

You have been on this board long enough to know Gracie would not say or insinuate many people are lying.

No need to attack individuals, attack a topic if you need to attack.

I'm counting on your experience to discourage folks in the Southern Oaks area from golf carting to Lake Sumter Landing and Spanish Springs.

As of the other day there are now 2 bridges across 44, but those who are on the other side of the turnpike and have been in their homes for several years now, are still not connected to the rest of TV.

In my research, I saw where the developer has posted that it would be early next year (2021) before that will occur.

Even when that occurs and even minimal retail development finally gets completed on the very south end, to us that's still a long golf cart ride to places like Lake Sumpter Landing and is the reason we are looking for something a lot closer to LSL.

It might be fun once, taking a picnic lunch and making a leisurely day out of it, but we can't imagine trying to do it every time we want to play a championship course (anticipating doing it about 3 times a week).
