for the life of me, i can't understand if someone is so disillusioned, why did you even think of moving here to begin with? certainly you must be savvy enough to understand what life may be like under such 'terrible Morses'. i could never stay in a place i was so unhappy in, it's the entire reason we left Connecticut with cash in pocket to move in asap. we LOVE it here :)

Oh yes.

East side of Collier was still only partiality open. Yes, sales rep give us that "this all there will be, so jump on it now" line. We did not buy because of the pressure, we bought because we found exactly what we were looking for. But I have heard the tales and even overheard reps talking to perspective buyers using those same kind of lines. It is not an uncommon tactic and I have no reason to doubt folks who say they experienced it here or in other places. Sorry if I spoiled the illusion that TV reps might be different than other sales people. After all, if they don't keep up their production they will be looking for work somewhere else. It is what it is.

The good side to the bridge being finished is I will not have to listen to the northerners complain about being charged for a cart on an Executive course (have you ever heard of walking? It is actually good for you).

I moved here because of the paths and open spaces. We have all the amenities in place (pools, rec centers, etc). You could make a point they haven’t announced sufficient Championship courses down south. I would agree with that since I am a golfer and want more near me. But I have noticed a lot of the residents down here don’t golf. I was kind of amazed when I moved in.

It takes me 10 minutes to get to a Publix, big deal. If you want everything a 10 minute cart ride away get a sales person, sell, and move. That will not happen down here for a long time.

So for me personally I am very happy where I live and everything around me. It is an ideal situation for me. I am not going to spend my time in this beautiful place moaning and complaining. Peace out!

Thank You~!!:coolsmiley:

Yes Of Course it happened. (Sarcasm) I can hear it: "This is Collier, this is the final Village so buy now. And please, don't look on the other side of Buena Vista. And just ignore all the construction going on a 1/4 a mile away."

When Pinellas Place was being paved, Hillsborough was already platted.

:cryin2:

I understand you find it hard to believe.

I understand that you my find it hard to believe. We came from Washington state. Met rep 1st am appointment in LSL office who drove us in their car on unfamiliar roads to see 3 new home just released for sale. As soon as the other reps bring their clients here these will be gone., is kind of how it went. Wife fell in love with our house the moment she stepped across the threshold. Quick walkthrough - perfect. Back to the office to buy the house. Never saw what now we would recognize as Hillsborough. Wouldn't have mattered. We found the perfect home. I still like our rep, but he was working for TV and doing his/her job as trained to do. Win-win. I don't want to give the impression I'm unhappy in any way. Just saying that I understand the frustration of folks whose expectations have not yet been fulfilled.

We feel the same in Linden. We came from The Preserve expecting south would be a good option for us, but there’s still no promise of being connected to the north by golf cart. Very, very disappointed in the Morse family right now!

They are building golf cart rest stops!

Sure, because it's fun, it's a lot cheaper than a second car and also why many of the The Villages road signs say "WELCOME TO THE VILLAGES, A GOLF CART COMMUNITY."

This is something I’ll never understand.
Driving around in a golf cart is a lifestyle?
I do like the fact that I can drive my golf cart to every golf course in The Villages (north of 44), to play golf.
However, IMO, any continuous golf cart ride that lasts longer than 20 minutes ceases to be comfortable, or fun.

I get you.

I understand. Driving around in a golf cart is a lifestyle for some, just like sports cars, motorcycles or motor homes. They buy fancy rigs and trick them out, have rallys and so on. As for comfort, there are some great, adjusting seats, custom steering wheels, all kinds of stuff.
To other folks a cart is just a convenient form of transport, nothing more. Hey, different strokes for different folks.
You don't have to understand it. Some folks like it and as long as no one gets hurt, do we really need to understand?
Now, what I don't understand is rap music. (Oops. Did I just give anybody an idea for a new thread?)

Olyarchik has a real complaint here. To be lied to by a sales agent is fraudulent. We retired in June 2019 and started our home search right after Fenny opened. We had sales agents tell us that Magnolia Plaza would be built right when Fenny was started, that there would be connectivity in Fall 2019 and all sorts of claims. I was prepared to purchase in McClure believing what we heard but my husband had the foresight to know I would not be happy driving to the store as we lived in downtown Chicago with everything at our fingertips. We moved into the Village of Charlotte and I am happy that we did. I don't think it is fair that the sales agents are allowed to mislead people. I am sorry for those of you who trusted your agent and feel misled. You may want to let others know who your agents were so that others looking for a home will not use the same agents .

When we bought not only was the grocery not doable by golf cart, had to use the car for pretty much everything. LSL had only a few stores.

We had no cell service, and was the only person on our street, with no houses for blocks, just dirt. We have all been there when a new area opens, but in those days we didn’t melt down.we waited, drove to what we needed.

We love our house and the neighborhood with it's parks but we really feel like second class citizens. Our agent told us that the golf cart bridge over the highway and our shopping center would be finished in the fall of 2019. Neither were finished and now they are putting the bridge over 44 to Chitty Chatty tonight. That Village was started six months after ours was completed. What gives? Have they forgotten about Marsh Bend and Fenny?

You will have the bridge at the same time as those who bought in Fenney, DeSoto, and McClure. Therefore, you should not use the bridge for one year after it in place as a respect for their seniority.

Now you are catching on. No one knows what is going to happen.

It looks like The Villages is expanding to the south. Maybe in 10-15 years you will have connectivity to Bushnell, which is the county seat and a much more important community than TV.
