Default Golf Cart Parking @ the Square (Sumter)

I just happened to circle the square today and discovered the grass area at the eatern end of the waterfront is being closed in with posts and rope. I guess that means one more area where golf carts can't park in a square that is already short on parking areas (especially on vendor night). Maybe a rule should be established whereby only golf carts can be in the immediate area of the square. What is your take on this folks??

Fox,

I almost always park in the huge lot behind starbucks/van heusen etc....there are always spaces and it's a very short walk to the square.
I've noticed all the carts parking up on the grass in the past few months....I'm sure it's not good for the grass. There is ample parking at the square, behind all the buildings. Parking is def tighter at Spanish Springs.

I agree....that this is the first time I have ever noticed carts on the grass....parking is always crowded....and I think they rope off too many spaces for the vendors....BUT was amazed at the carts on the grass....

There are hundreds of parking spaces behind all of the buildings....and on a night like tonight and in the months to come....it will feel good to walk in the cool breeze after a night of dancing...or shopping....

IMHO

The reason the grass is roped off is because they do not want carts to park there

Oh great...I am sorry....I have seen ropes there before...with carts on the grass anyway....I am so glad they aren't allowing it any longer!

Thank Goodness! I was always amazed at the people who park their golf carts on the grass when the Barnes & Noble parking lot is usually almost empty! For special events (Octoberfest, Italian Night) maybe it is necessary, but not on normal evenings.
