Walk into the middle of this brawl? It would have been akin to stepping in between two large dogs fighting, both of whom were bigger than me! Come on .....think before you engage your fingers on here please. The police were called and responded quickly. I had no idea what prompted this altercation and therefore had nothing of any value to add. This was a disgraceful public nuisance incident not a robbery or shooting.
You did the right thing. Morse Blvd. is extremely busy and stopping would have caused more of a hazard than a help. As others have said you never know who is "carrying" or not, calling the police is always the best option.

I think they're in a hurry to save their seats at the square! Can't be late for that.

As I told some guy driving up Canal Street that seemed REALLY irritated that I backed our golf cart out of a parking spot last week, "A little courtesy goes a long way buddy."

Way too much traffic and rudeness this year. It can't be all Villagers, can it?

Which way did he think you should go. LOL. I drove across the Paige Pl bridge today leaving from the square and some car came up behind me fairly fast and blew the horn. I just ignored him and continued to the light at 10 mph. After the light turned green he peeled out and went around me.

Yes we all have to be careful out there --- some of those snowbird are not aware of the rules of the road -- as to how has the "right of way"

A lot of people walk that bridge and cross between the Hacienda pool, the hotel and rec center and I've seen cars fly down that street. I definately see the reason for the 10 mpg zone there. Apparently others don't. I was under the impression from an article in the village news the Lady Lake police were going to start enforcing that zone but I've yet to see them.

What about safe driving practices.

It seems to me everyone should keep some distance between them and the vehicle in front of them.

The most basic rule of all IMHO.

Personally, I think the 10mph limit is overkill and it's pretty hard to drive that slow. Recently, I was thru that area and following a Lady Lake Police car. I followed him at about 25mph, so I think their enforcement of that ridiculous speed limit is unlikely; unless you are going 40 through there.

Actually, if you "try" to drive 10mph through that stretch, golf carts [and bicycles] will pass you...

Good to know that everything will be okay when "The Birds" fly north. When we don't blame the Developer for something we blame the Snowbirds.

Accidents happen and just because people retire and move to TV doesn't necessarily change their personality. Folks with a trigger temper most likely still have the same and as we get older some go back to being children again.

How can you be sure it is a 'snowbird'? I am a 'snowbird', as you call 6 month a year people that pay all year, but I am passed almost daily. Most of the carts flying by me seem to the people here all the time. Could it be renters, or visiting children/grandchildren that don't know the rules? Just saying one shouldn't blame any group, as I just did, without knowing.

Love TV!

"Scourge ... a person or thing that causes great trouble and suffering."

"Northern scourge".

You are trying to be funny, right?
