Hope this isn't a duplicate post - I tried posting it a few days ago and it never got posted for some reason?
Any recommendations for repair of a LED strip on a golf cart or replacement of the strip? Any recommendations for getting name decals put on a new to us golf cart? Would prefer 1 source for both. BTW >How do you get those decals off? Thanks |

The decals can usually be removed using your finger nail, or a PLASTIC scraper, hear from a hair dryer (NOT an industrial heat gun) will also typically soften the decal for removal, then goo gone or similar will remove any residual glue. NOTE: if the cart was in the sun a lot, there may be a shadow of the old names once these are removed. I have no good idea for removing the shadow short of repainting.
As for the LEDs, if you are lucky, this will be a broken or loose wire and can easily be repaired, if you are not lucky, the actual LED strip is damaged and these typically are not repairable. You may not be able to match the existing LED strip light, so I would plan on replacing both. I have the equipment to test the existing strip and wiring, send me a PM if you would like my contact info.

You have bought a used golf cart. Many others do the same. When you put decals on your golf cart it prevents the sun from fading the paint. All paint fades in the sun. If, you later sell your golf cart and you chose to stick your name your team etc on it, it will always show unless the new owner gets it painted. As far as removing old stickers. There is no shortage of products that will remove them. Many such as naptha (coleman fuel) are flammable. Whatever you chose, try it in a small spot that will not be seen and do it outside. Remember, your golf cart body is fiberglass-not steel-and it is easy to scratch. "Repair and LED strip." Depends on what is wrong with it. LEDs are not repairable you toss them in the trash and buy new ones. Wiring, fuses etc is a different issue and can be,"repaired." |

name stickers come off with the use of a hair dryer on high. heat them up and take them off it's that easy. As for the "sunshadow" aka paint diference. there are a couple methods - first start with magquires polishing compound . That will blend in the spot. it will take probably 3 applications depending on how defined the area is.
For LED strips easy enough to find online and wire up. you'll need 3M solvent to remove the residual glue left, then clean with rubbing alcohol and let dry. there would be a small hole or some method previously used fromt he old lighting just follow it. pretty easy
