For a Good Cause ........
For those of you not yet aware, there is going to be a "Meeting of the Bands" this Wenesday March 4th from 7 till 9+PM at the Villages Middle School.
If you like to overload on music this will be the place to be. 4 bands in action and for a good cause. The Villages Concert Band, New Horizons Band, High School Band and Middle School Band will present this Meeting of the Bands. The cost will be $5 per person at the door. It will help to pay for the musical necessities at the two schools and you will get to see and hear us seniors mix it up with the kids. Where else can you have that kind of audio and visual enjoyment for 2+ hours for 5 bucks? No saved seating (even my wife has got to buy a ticket). And you can only get them at the door. Hope to see all of you there.

Oh this is such a great idea! Thank you for letting us know! What a great thing you all are doing for the school bands! Music is so important to have in our schools. It is because of residents like you that our schools are the best of the best!

Doors open:
The "Meeting of the Bands" I am told will now be 5 groups not four. Villages Concert Band, New Horizons Band, High School Band, Middle School Band and the new member is the "Buffalo Sound". A fairly new beginning jazz group made up of freshman. (Like to hear them in three years as seniors)
This is what I have been told. I have not had this group verified yet except for the fact they will play. Doors open at 6:30 tommorrow night (Wenesday) at the Middle School. Tickets are $5 each. I'll be there for sure ................. will you?

Thank you ........
Hello,
Thanks you one and all for making this evening quite a memory. All 5 groups did a great job. The 3 school groups did very well for their size and think about this. Tonite was the worst they will ever play. They will grow and become quite a formidable group once they get up to size. They are going to be awesome. The two bands of the Villages did themselves proud also. Every time they put on a show, they out do themselves. My only negative comment is regarding the length of the performance. It should have been at least two hours long. There were plenty of musicians and plenty of music to fill 120 minutes. Into the mix, add the Villages Swing Band and Dixieland Band and you'd would really have an audio experience. Maybe next year in a bigger venue. I understand this is going to be a yearly doings. Sure hope so. Love working with those kids. Oh, I play trumpet in the Villages Concert Band, Swing Band, Big Band on Wenesday am and the Lake County Concert Band. Wifey won't let me join any more.
