I usually leave $10 for the mail carrier, $25 for the trash guys, $25 for lawn care company, and $25 for cleaning lady. I would leave $10 for newspaper person, but I have no idea what time they deliver or where to leave it for them. I always give cash in hopes that they split it up amongst themselves.

Default Tips for service people

We got Christmas cards from our newspaper carrier and mail carrier with their names and addresses on them. This makes it very easy for us to give them a Christmas gift. We mailed a check for $20 to each of them. Our newspaper is on our drive every morning when we get up, and our mail is delivered at approximately the same time each day. This dependability is worthy of a nice gift/tip, and we feel that $20 is reasonable. We wish the garbage collectors would leave a Christmas card in our front door with their names and addresses, also.
