Quarry blasting which sometimes shook my artwork off the wall. Had to use hurricane screws to stop it.

Wee hours of the morning, half asleep, thought I heard distant thunder and felt mild tremor. Lay awake the rest of the night praying for rain. The thought that scared me was that it might have been a sink hole.

To my knowledge, there’s only been one or two occurrences of sink holes in The Villages. How can you tell which areas are prone to it and is all the overdevelopment in The Villages a cause for concern on this issue? (Don’t mean to hijack this thread but since the subject was already mentioned a couple of times…)

Did someone mention damage to their home? I missed that.

These blast shakes are the equivalent of a truck hitting a pothole in front of your house and they last about 1 second. I've been down here for 6 years, just had my house painted and asked them to let me know if there were any cracks in the stucco and there were none. It's not a big deal at all. The only ones that complain about it are those that don't live here.

Somehow that was helpful to the OP I guess?

Apparently you missed this thread:

Plotted where Villages sinkholes have occurred

There's 10 on here and at least 3 or 4 since that.

I would rather deal with having to put a new roof on my home than have a crack(s) in the foundation of my home or other damage that blasting can cause.

SPACE X brought a Rocket Shell back to Cape Canaveral and LANDED IT AT THE CAPE.
This caused the Sonic Boom/Shake to be heard and felt all across most of Florida.

Normally they land it on a barge in the Middle of The Atlantic Ocean.
When they land it Mid Ocean.... WE would hear nothing.in The Villages

The Sonic Boom was Heard all Across Central Florida.

The Local Dixie Stone Co had nothing to do with this Boom and Shake.

Yikes. I'm in Mallory Square where one of those sink holes opened up. Apparently I do have something to worry about.

Default There are military jet flights

About a month ago someone posted two A10s flying closely over some Villages housing in another post.

Additional Theory
A villager adjusted their golf cart to hyper sonic speeds above 20 mph and you heard the reverberations of the experimental cart craft.

Let's see, 6-1/2 years of building homes south of 44, lived here 6 of those years and have never heard anyone mention a crack in their foundations or any other damage. However there is a lot of crack(s) in your neck of the woods.
