Default Guest overnight parking

Hello. We will be having guests for the Christmas holidays beginning today and they are each bringing a car. We live in Hadley. Where can they park cars overnight? Thanks

Default Official overnight parking guidelines for The Villages

Here is what is posted at The Villages districtgov.org website

Below is a summary of the deed restrictions which can be found online at
http://districtgov.org/slcdd/deedrestrict.asp

Item #12
Parking: Vehicles are to be kept in owners’ garages or concrete driveways. When visiting The Villages facilities and commercial areas golf cart parking is available in designated areas

Overnight Parking Opportunities
(Revised 12/19/07) - Residents wishing to park their or a guest’s vehicle overnight at a recreation center may do so by requesting an overnight parking permit. Overnight parking permits are issued at the regional and village recreation centers. Permits can be issued for up to five (5) days. Overnight parking is not permitted at the neighborhood center and unfortunately we can not accommodate RVs. For further information and/or assistance please call La Hacienda Regional Recreation Center at 753-1716.

Just for future information: the streets in Lake and Sumter County (other than the Villa roads) are public, and The Villages cannot restrict parking on them. So if the cars fit out in the street, they are perfectly ok (though "safe" is another issue.) Actually, Village covenants do not apply to those who do not live in The Villages.

Default Thanks again

We did end up going to the rec. center and parking the car over in the parking lot. They gave us a page to put under the wipes to show it was ok to park for 5 days. It worked for us. Thanks for all the help.

Talking parking on villa streets

From what we were just told, if you live in a Villa you can park your car on the street. Rules change all the time

In the villa areas they have a designated parking area for guest if there is no room in your driveway.

I've had to knock on doors and ask people to move their cars and golf cart because they've blocked me in on a few occasions.

This is helpful. We are renting a villa all summer & expecting company to stay a week. Didn't know where to have them park their car. Thank you.

Funny story about our designated parking areas in our villas. First one our guest parked in had a note the next morning from the owner of the nearby house. Please do not park here, my wife is a terrible driver and might hit you when she pulls out of the driveway. Our guest moved his car to the second designated area and received another note from the house nearby that he is requesting that he not park there so the homeowners guests can park in the area. He also warned us not to park next door because the neighbor was nuts.

Villa communities have a small guest/visitor parking area... About 5 spaces.
