Default Gutters and leaders

On my Iris, I notice the gutters have only two spouts (I believe they call them leaders) in the front. In my NY home, we have them in front and rear and sometimes in heavy rain it isn't enough. I know in Florida, "When it rains, it rains."

Are the two spouts enough to allow the rain waters to escape or should I consider adding another two spouts. And if I go with the addition do I need clearance from the Village beforehand???

unless you bought a model, you probably don't have full gutters, only over the entrances to your home and maybe the garage. Some add them, some don't. We did, and opted for the extra large ones (5 inch or 6 inch rather than 4 or 5 - can't remember). We have at least 2 more downspouts, possibly more - I'd have to look around on the sides, know we have one on each back corner.

Thanks OHIOGIRL Do you recall the cost? I figure in the $400 range. Am I close?

It's by linear foot, and mine was over 4 years ago, can't remember exactly. Just slightly more for the larger (recommended for Florida rain volume) ones. Think we used Hill's? Might have had the same company do our garage attic stairs at the same time.

We just added gutters around the rest of our Bridgeport and used Hills. It was around 300-400 price range. They will come out and measure and give you an estimate. Very fast and efficient. Coming from the north to the south 14 years ago we were surprised by the lack of gutters on homes, in Tenneessee and Arkansas. The homes we built had gutters all way around. Good luck and welcome to Tv.

Do we need gutters all the way around? Up north we have basements to keep dry. In TV no basements and the sand has good drainage. I thought the gutters over the doorways were only for convenience.

You may be right Bob. I guess I'll find out when we have our first hard rain.
