Maybe this scam wouldn't be so tempting to some if there were a REAL butcher shop anywhere close by...

Although, I can understand that a woman living alone may feel uncomfortable if almost every house on the street has 2 names on it.
If I was a woman living alone I wouldn’t have a sign.

I used to travel quite a lot for work, and my wife and daughters were alone at home.
I used to leave a couple of pairs of dirty old size 13 work boots in the porch, it was amazing how many people noticed, and remarked on their size.
My wife always replied, "you want to see the rest of him!"
Never had a problem with callers.

Can't stop them from coming in. Over 90% of the roads are owned by the counties and are public roads. The only exceptions are the ones in Villa neighborhoods and the roads in Marion County because Marion County would not take ownership of the roads after The Villages built them.

He was at my door and introduced himself as “Sal”. He told me his two kids were in the white truck and said their names were “Mo” and “Nellie”.
Seriously, I could give you a long list of truly horrible diseases you could contract from eating spoiled meat. Some of which you may not recover from.
Who would buy ANYTHING from ANYBODY knocking at their door? I placed a no solicitation sign on the window next to the door and have only had two knocks in 5 years.

I didn't.

Has anyone been in contact with this guy and brought the steaks?

I guess it's a way to make a living!!
Yes! I bought $200 worth from the same guy with the same story. Very bad deal! Worst meat I have ever bought, not even worth $20. Don't waste your money.

I wouldn't have taken onwership of all those streets up there with goofy addresses, either.

Default In Alhambra.

I just met him!
In Alhambra

My doorbell rang; Same story; neighbor's freezer full, selling brand name steaks, $3; I noticed a white pickup in the street.

I said No, I'm leaving in two days. He politely left.

Very cool experience: reading about it here, then it really happened!

Widow on our street left the husbands name up on the sign to make sales people think she was not living alone

I have seen that also. But, why should someone need to lie about who lives in the house? I think the system to encourage people to put names on their lamppost is not a good policy, especially if it causes women living alone feel the need to be dishonest.
