We live in DeSoto and had max of 0.1" rain with no hail. Bunch of noise from thunder

Hail is associated with tornadoes. So take cover when you see it. Listen when your weather radio alarms but heed the sight of the hail, lightning, and sound of the thunder, wind warnings that can signal an imminent danger situation.

At that time we were enjoying some pizza in our lanai with company from SoCal after a long day out in the golf cart, and we had thunder & lightning, but barely any rain and no hail. We’re in DeLuna.

It has to be big enough, dense enough, suspended enough, and weight enough to do damage usually approaching golf ball size or bigger depending on density. I came from Oklahoma self proclaimed hail expert.

I so agree. We keep reading extremely high chance of rain and get sprinkles. We had a half an hour of a decent rain some days ago and that was it. The resulting high pollen count was so extraordinary that my nasal congestion became pneumonia. Very unusual weather near Lake Sumter Landing, I must say.

This is how my lawn burned up last summer. The rain forecast downloaded to the sprinkler controller server saw 50% chance of rain and put in a rain delay. No rain ever showed up for a month, and the sprinklers didn't water for a month.

Be warned that automated sprinkler settings for rain delays have to be set pretty high percentage forecast, or turned off completely, and water when raining. . doesn't matter it will just recycle the retention pond water. . .
