Perhaps I am under the wrong impression that community watch is more than watching for weeds and bad lawns.

Isn't there a camera at all gates to capture all who enter the neighborhoods? If I would see something unusual, such as an off hour high wheel truck cruising the neighborhood, it kind of gets my attention. Just giving an example of keeping aware of the unusual.

We had a raft of pumpkin thefts years ago and we coated the sides and backs with used motor oil.

Decided to use guard dog to keep away any miscreants. She is also on call for any 'poopers' in her yard pulling their owner at the end of a 30 foot leash
