Default More Pickleball?

I'm wondering if a small portion of Tennis Courts could be converted to Pickleball?

I have friends who are tennis buffs, and they tell me it's very hard to get an open tennis court in the morning. They aren't in favor of taking any tennis courts away.

I think a better idea would be to institute a reservation system much like they have for golf. They could still reserve the first two hours of the morning for open play but still make the rest of the day more equitable. For one thing, you wouldn't be standing in line (in the winter season) for twenty minutes between games while you wait for an open court--there's not enough seats for everyone, plus cooling down and then going out to play again can lead to injuries. For another, standing in line close to others is not a good idea now with the Covid problem.

There are groups that can reserve two hours of court time at a time, but what if you just want to go out to play and don't know enough people with the free time to make up a foursome?

Also, and this is a pipe dream, I wish they would light the courts. They could be equipped like a parking meter, where you pay for a certain amount of time.

The courts are getting so crowded, just like the golf courses.

I am sure people living close to the pickle ball courts do not want lights. Having to hear that sound all day and night would drive anyone nuts.

It would really help to install a non volley zone line on the platform tennis courts and just like that it's a perfect pickleball court. I may want to confirm the net height though. Platform tennis seems very under utilized.

Actually you want to attend the AAC and PWAC meetings, they have control over the amenities.

No.

I wonder if pickleball ball courts can be converted to tennis courts.

But, some can be? Example saddlebrook and laurel manor. Saddle brook could be converted all pickleball courts and laurel manor converted to all tennis courts. They are close and this would create 12 pickleball courts at saddlebrook and three tennis courts at laurel manor. IMO advanced tennis players don’t like the noise and movement behind tennis courts.

IMO they never should of been combined, but, that’s me. Were Rec. center courts are close this could also be done separating the two. Never going happen so might as well get use to things as they are.

They are building less tennis courts below 44, but I doubt they are putting in more pickleball courts? IMO One day golf will not be the big draw as older generations die off. Who knows being it takes months and months of practice, years for some to be even average tennis player maybe the future most pickleball courts be converted then also?

It's very rare to see people using the tennis courts. I very much doubt any tennis players would need to travel far to find empty courts.

It is common, especially in the winter, to see people waiting to play pickelball.

a stadium is not that far fetched , would allow for regional and national tournament play, Pro and amateur, woudn't be that large , pickle ball is one of the fastest growing sports
