Default Lake Sumter Tree Lighting

I am suprised no one has posted how incredible the LSL tree lighting event was this year. Since this is my first experience I can't speak for years past, but it was really a beautiful sight to see so many Villagers having a wonderful time at the Landing. Lots and lots of people and all the best of what TV has to offer. Looking forward to next year. Merry Christmas everyone.

Default Great time with the holidays

So good to hear! We are going to Brownwood tree lighting Monday evening. Hope it's as good as you say Sumpter was. It is so much fun celebrating the holidays and not freezing to death! We so love it here. We got a charge tonight because we rode around in our golf cart to see Christmas lights. Oh what fun is is to ride in a one horse open......golf cart!!!

I must be the grinch then. If I posted what I thought of the ceremony, I would probably be tared and feathered, and run out of town on a golf cart, Nuff said.

Going to Brownwood too.
Glad they spread it over 3 nights since we were busy both previous nights for tree lighting.

The poster with the tagline of "Get that *&%^$%# golf cart outta my way" seems to have that same attitude with life and fun in The Villages. Too bad that some people just cannot adjust to life and fun in The Villages.

The Lake Sumter Landing Christmas tree lighting was great. The square was packed with happy people and not a bit of bickering went on that I could see.

The Christmas Cantata at Hope Lutheran Church last night was also fabulous. Be sure to attend some of the special things going on in The Villages this Christmas season. Also, remember those less fortunate and drop off some canned foods at the Christian Food Pantry in Lady Lake or one of the other food pantries.

Default Don't miss the Christmas Concert by The Villages Concert Band too....

WHEN does the Villages Concert Band have their Christmas Concert at the big Presbyterian Church behind Home Depot????

We went last year and we were just delighted. What talent, what a magical night!

First, let me clarify something. I did have fun. The ceremony was something special.

What really yanked my chain was the "older" people who obviously had too much "Christmas cheer". Not only were they trampling the flower beds, in an attempt to get a closer look, but they were being very pushy, trying to get in front of everybody. One even spilled his drink on another spectator. Totally uncalled for, IMHO.

But, of course, this doesn't apply to anyone on TOTV.

We have " OLDER PEOPLE" in The Villages??????

Nasty!

I am teasing Bob n Bev. I understood your post and that you were annoyed by dumb behavior.

I just don't go much to those events because the chair saving and the pushing ahead make me so mad.

I thought the Greek food stand was great!

Red Lobster's stand was a bit skimpy on the $4 chowder.

Met the founder of the TV Cheerleaders - very nice lady, a former high school cheerleader, who has been in TV for over 15 years.

A very nice event! (I can't say it was magical tho)

Default Tree Lighting in LSL

This was our first tree lighting in LSL and we were just
blown away at the number of happy, happy people at
the square.

In fact, we had to pinch ourselves to make sure we
were really in TV....finally!! To y'all out there...
next to Disney World....this really is the happiest
place on earth so just kick back and enjoy it!!

Thanks to all those involved in making the event truly
magical for all of us.
