Default Organic market

Hubby and I went up to Ocala yesterday afternoon, so we made a side trip to the Earth Origins Market to check it out. Everything in the small market is geared toward natural, organic, gluten-free, etc. Also a section for cosmetics/soaps, and vitamins/supplements, etc. No fresh meat counter, but packaged organic lunchmeats, hot dogs, and a freezer section also. Some bulk items too. Its about 2 miles east of 27/441/301 on Silver Springs road (SR 40). Their website is: earthoriginsmarket.com

I travel to Al Rosas farms north of Ocala for all my meat, prices are good and everything is grass fed and "organic". Browns Market is where I get all my produce, they even carry unpasteurized Milk. Fresh Market is all we have for now although they do carry grass fed beef and a carry a small section of Greenwise meats.

I also heard of an organic market from a very good source. I beleive she said it was on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Unfortunately in my hurry I have forgotten, if someone know about this let us know. I thought she may have said toward Fruitland?? but I am not sure.

Donna Wormser from Blue Meadows Farm has an organic stand at the farmers market in Spanish Springs on Thursday and Brownwood on Saturday. She has a wide array of organic fruit and vegetables at very reasonable prices. i.e a head of romaine lettuce $2 and 3 red or green peppers for $2. She also has free range chicken eggs for $3 a dozen. And for you people looking for 100% grass fed cattle there is a stand there for that too. It's name is Pasture Prime Family Farm.

I once asked Whole Foods if their beef were grass fed and they told me they guarantee that their cattle are fed grass for the first 75% of their lives. Huh?

Thanks, GHT. This is good to know. I'm glad you posted that the pickup day is Thursday, because there is no pickup day or time on the website that I could find. You don't happen to know the time, do you?

Earth Origins Market, 1917 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala is our favorite health food market in the Central Florida area. Worth the trip.

Green Wise in Publix is not always organic. You have to ask about each item. I had wanted to buy some beef that had that label and it was not organic.
