Maybe the cats are turning down the thermostat to punish you for locking them out

My Gardenia was pretty chilly during the "cold snap" we had a few weeks ago. I turned the themostat up to 73 or 74, opened up my master BR closets and it actually got so warm at night, I had to lower the thermostat. Remember..the block and stucco remain cooler than wooden structures.

It seems many folks have purchased the Gardina model. What did you love about this model compared to the other designers. We love the Lily but would love to hear what others have purchased and why. Just called down to TV today regarding the relocation. House is going up for sale here.
Can't wait to be in TV. |

change location of thermostat?
Suggest contact with a/c service or provider about relocating the thermostat to give you a more accurate reading.

I cannot believe how many buy a house with single pane windows . . . I cannot believe the Village would even make these homes but they do . . . so check to see what the glass is in the windows and sliders,

Just built mine - not single pane windows. Not something I had to ask for. |

I beleive all the windows are single pane glass, multiple-pane is merely single pane with a grid. I have single pane windows and am curious as to why someone "can't beleive I bought them"?????? I guess for the same reason my house is painted yellow and not green.

My Bad Thought we were talking about multiple pane (decorative) and not double-pane (insulation type). Wasn't even an option when I bought...house came with new double-pane e-windows. Sorry for any confusion I caused.

A good reason to have home warranty get the HVAC installer
to check the balance is that often balancing may require an adjustment of the baffles in the ducting....if they can't get it accomplished by the louvers in the house.
Another tip most people do not take up on is to leave the furnace fan on manual....running all the time. It provides much better distribution of the air when the heat source is not running. With no ceiling fans or furnace fan running all the air heated or cold just "hangs" there. It is not a significant cost to run the fan. My first choice is to have the ceiling fans on low in high volume ceiling areas. Second choice is to run the furnace fan. Either option facilitates better distribution during the cooling season. Our ceiling fans are on 24/365. btk |
