Default TV North to South ?

When we first moved here we read a number of statistics about the size of The Villages and the quote then was that the development was 18 miles North to South but that was 20,000 people ago and well before Brownwood and the surrounding residential development.

Any new stats about the length and width of TV?

From CR 42 down to CR 44 via Buena Vista Blvd, it is a 12.7 mile drive.

I'm not disputing that distance, maybe that is straight line but driving seems much longer. When I drive from Tamarind Grove to the VA Clinic on 42 it's 11 miles. I'm located about a mile north of CR466A, so that would make about 12 miles from 466A to 42. From 466A down to Hwy 44 seems like it should be at least 4 miles, I would consider driving distance total about 16 miles from Hwy 44 to Hwy 42.

If you go on Google Earth and draw a line from the most northern tip down to Route 44, it's 11.04 miles. It's obviously a lot longer if you drive.

I've been told that TV is basically a 10 X 10 mile square. Seems to make sense.

You look on Google or at a map and you can see that TV is no square. However you can still figure TV by square miles. It's BIG thats for sure. 12.7 miles seems about right from north to south via Buena Vista. A lot farther by golf cart.

10x10=100 sq mi. Seriously have doubts on that. I would guestimate it twice as long as wide. Maybe 11x4= 44 sq mi
Driving down 301 one day, I believe it was about 9 miles from 44 to 466

What about the width from 301 to the Eastern edge of Sumter County.
