Default Day 1 Direct tv

Our first day with direct TV. Its raining, thundering and TV is Out. Pls tell me this isn't the norm with direct? We just signed a 2 yr contract

The good news it doesn't last long'; however, I would highly recommend a weather radio to be on hand so you can monitor a serious storm if needed.

Had Direct TV for one year now and minimal outages. Hasn't been out at all today. Hope I'm not jinxing it. We are in Belvedere.

Pretty much any time you have a good storm you will lose your signal. But when you have it, you have a great picture.

sometimes you will have to remove heavy snow off of the dish.

We recently started DirectTV and I'm on a learning curve. How do you switdch to non-HD?

Another problem with Direct Tv-when your box needs replacing, you have to send it back to them and wait for a new one arrive. That's 3-4 days with no tv. I suffered with it for 2 years and went back to cable.

Put both HD and regular channels on your guide (you can program this in under settings/remote). Usually when the HD signal goes out the regular channels will be available. You can watch on the regular until the HD signal returns. Only whe the storm is excessive will the regular go out also.

I just had to do this last month and they sent mine overnight. I did ask if they would expedite it and they did.
