Default We villagers are the first defense

Against crime. US...all of us..We don't work, most of us and we are out and about and nosy as heck. If you see something a little off, call someone.

If you see something, say something.

It was listed in the on-line newspaper on the 10th, and the Village Sun on the 12th (a little blurb several pages in, I forgot which section).

Hate to mention this, but the fact is that parents do bring grown children here. Children who have no means to support themselves. Children over the age of 19. Some of them come here with a past. Just saying.

This makes two burglaries in Fernandina in the past two weeks, with two others only a few months ago. That's four burglaries within 1/4 mile of our house in less than a year! While we know that all communities have crime, we've never lived anywhere in which crime was as high as it is here.

I have to agree with you. I think that is high, considering we never had-or, most likely-never heard of any crime the first 3 years we lived here. We lived in a BIG community before we moved here for 18 years, and I can't remember any burglaries in all that time. The worst we had was a couple of times some teen aged boys hit the mail boxes with a board, and 1 young teen shooting birds with a BB gun. Times, they are a-changing----even in TV.
