Default Home Insurance Question

So, if there's no hurricanes this year in Florida,
will our home insurance be reduced??

How long did it take insurance to pay the claim? Then get repairs completed.

Our $48,000 claim for storm damage check took less than 30 days, repairs in 48 days.

Can you tell us what happened from the lightning and what Village you are in? Maybe we can learn something in dealing with the insurance companies on a claim like that.

No to price reduction. . it's not a year by year by claims activity, unless you have a mutual insurance company, such as Amica. You will get a rebate check as an owner type if there is excess profits / cash flows. . not alot, but generally, the profits remain in the insurance company as reserves. . investments for future claims. . .

Never mind Hurricanes. I have a car that automatically will stop to avoid hitting another car. There are cars that self-drive and do much better job than most humans.

I have yet to see a discount from car insurance companies for "self-stopping" or "self-driving" cars.

I doubt it, but to be honest I'm really surprised by how low the insurance is. We have a new build in the south of TV, but the cost is $500 more than where we moved from....but we also have a pool.

Are the higher prices being seen more in the mid\north parts of TV? We're not seeing it with new builds in the south.

No you are paying for past costs and risks just like an accident. Stays on your record 3-5 years if you filed a claim and are in a bad zone last hit.

Likely there will be no decrease in insurance if there are no hurricanes. But remember, we are in mid September and hurricane season goes thru Nov 31st. We have many weeks to go.
