Default Home Swimming Pools

This is without a doubt, the most incredible video I have seen!

There are a lot of homes with swimming pools in TV and a lot of children and grandchildren visiting them. Please click on the link.

It doesn ' t matter who you are, or how busy you are.
This is a 'must watch' video, and I hope you' ll pass it along.

Is that all you are thinking about... money? The instructors for this are certified yearly, just like EMT's or other emergency personnel. Maybe we should do awway with ambulance services because they make money! ISR probably does make money from certifying instructors, but it is local swim schools that have certified instructors that the customer pays for lessons. But you seem to be missing the whole point, Russ, if this technique can save a life, wouldn't it still be better if there was a charge to learn it. Oh... and why don't you click on this other link to learn about that terrified and exploited little boy...http://www.infantswim.com/isr-experience/Miles.html

Scared the you know what out of me!!! I do believe that anyone who has a pool better be sure that they fence it property and make sure anyone in their house even for a visit can swim. This shows what could happen in just a few moments.

I do not however, agree with the way this film was made. I believe in the training but that baby crying bothered me immensely.

Russ_Boston {One question I would have for them is: "Does having this ability decrease the fear of the water to the point that the child might do reckless things on purpose knowing that they have this skill?"}

Oh give me a break, does teaching a child to ride a bike decrease the fear of being on the street to the point that the child might do reckless things on purpose knowing that they have this skill?!!!!!................................
How did we ever live to our ripe old retirement age. Too darn much second guessing everything and everyone. No wonder our country is in such a mess.

I have missed something here. People are responding to someone's post that has been deleted or changed.

I think an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, but my ounce of prevention would not include these swimming lessons. I wouldn't have a pool at my house if I had little ones in my family or if I had neighbors that did, I would have one H-- of a fence.

A friend of ours lost his 18 month old grandson in his backyard pool.

Hey Russ, it is okay to question! Sounds like a worthwhile skill to teach, but you did have a valid point.

The reason I deleted the messages was due to a misunderstanding of my thoughts. My point was that it is possible to train a bear to ride a bike for the circus but that doesn't mean that the ends justified the means.

This may be a great thing but to not question the method and take it completely on its face value is not right either. In the end it's a great thing that these kids could save themselves from drowning. Who's going to question that? OK I guess I did.

Russ
