MY house, family, pets, and stuff... If you come in uninvited, for any reason, God help you.

If you're capable of it, I see nothing wrong with being the first responder and defending your own property. If you're not, it would probably be better leave it to those that are.

The old NYPD saying,"better to be judged by 12 ,than carried out by six"

" you can always hire a lawyer, you can't hire a life"

In general we're too old to run or fight--

When there was a bunch of break ins last year I was getting all nervous and jerky until Sweetie said to me.

"What could they steal that would ruin our life?"

It is just stuff.

Personally I agree, though I do not have any really valuable and/or cherished things. I might feel differently if I did.

Make sure you ask them to stand where you can get your best light and not to move so the pictures aren't blurred.

I am inclined to agree with those who believe it is a mistake to flash a cell phone at a time like that. I mean what are you going to do take a "selfie"with them?

I am inclined to disagree with those who seem to be a bit flippant about this situation. Its a violation and it could lead to serious consequences. I think it is a big deal.

A woman who worked for me attended an event at the Fairgrounds and when returning to her car was met by a guy with a gun that relieved her of her pocketbook and then looked at her and told her to get in the back seat. She flat told him to shoot her because she would not comply turned so she would not be shot in the face and soon realize the guy disappeared.

The following morning she asked that I get a guy out to change every lock on her house and then she proceeded to erase any evidence of her existence in that city. Her husband wandered the streets for weeks looking for this guy. Finally she and her husband relocated to another city. I was relieved he never found the guy because he would have killed him

As I said, taking a picture is unlikely in most cases so stop being silly. Personally, I rarely carry my cell phone because I'm not that important. That would probably be one of the things they steal. LOL!

The upload app I mentioned has other uses though.

This is a very honest answer. To many boast how easily they can pull the trigger and take down another human. Also, can you live with the effect it's gonna have on your life. Many of us have had to shoot an enemy(s) on the battle field, even though it is drilled into your head, "it's them or you" the after effects linger for a life time.

I'm not condoning or condemning weapon's in the home or on your person, just remember to get proper training and make sure you take refresher courses, believe me, you will become very stale if not. Also remember when you discharge your weapon in your home a round can go through a wall or window and hit your neighbor. Just be careful and know what your getting into.

It's more than just about losing "stuff". Talk to people that have been burglarized, especially if they encountered the burglars. Some people can never get over it. It is a traumatic experience. Some people never again feel safe in that particular house, and end up moving. Others continue on, but may have trouble feeling comfortable/safe in their home. The after effects can last for years.
