You're a stitch, Patty! Blame it on the "winter crowd" and most of them haven't hit the highway yet and the "East coast attitudes". Nothing like using a broad paintbrush for your prejudices. Have you read about all the cr*p that happened in The Villages over the summer months while all of you none-vacationers were living there? If that character was racing around in a baseball suit it was highly unlikely he just arrived in The Villages and we have many East coast neighbors and friends that don't fit your description.

I've watched the summer vacationers return to The Villages more relaxed and ready to enjoy the moment and have felt much resentment in the non-vacationers whom believe they are being invaded and feel more entitled to what The Villages offers simply because they can't travel. We're all paying the piper and at this point, most of us know the rules and how to navigate the streets. Common courtesy would do wonders if we all adhered to that policy.

Let's all slow down and enjoy each other. Tal, I'm sorry you came across such an offensive driver and I think it's happened to many of us. I would try to pull over and let the offender fly by, sooner or later he'll do himself in.

We looking forward to returning to The Villages shortly and all of our wonderful friends, see you shortly!

It seems like when the snowbirds come in I'm always getting yelled at, usually NY accents (and I am a NYer).

I had something blow out of my cart, so I pulled over to pick it up. An older type guy (with a NY accent)with a woman and another couple screamed "That's a hell of a place to park" threw his hands in the air, made a face and gestured. I like to take the PC higher plane approach so I diffused the situation by saying nothing more than "Whatever RETARD".

I think these people are retired NY cabbies.

Peachie-couldn't agree more with you.I hate this blame the snowbird mentality down here.I don't want to rant and raise the blood pressure so I'll just stop but the anti snowbirds= you need an attitude adjustment among other things.

Now now now you folks are all taking this issue too seriously. These sort of things, based on many comments by other residents, simple don't occur here in Adult Disneyworld. And to criticize New York City people that way shameful. I met a quiet person from New York City once. I'll bet that rude guy in the yellow cart was really from Boston.

OK OK I do this in jest. The villages is a nice place and sometimes like that barrel of apples we find a rotten one.

Hi Tal,
I'm sorry to read that you had such an unnerving experience this morning. Think in that situation, I would just let the rude, angry person pass and thank my lucky stars and proper upbringing that I am not he.

Anyway, here's a hug from a member of the nice-person majority. Hope it helps.

The guy behind me started cursing and saying stuff like "What are you doing!" I had to wait some more for additional vehicles turning left onto Parr Dr and the golf cart driver behind me got even more impatient and loud with various epithets.

The man had a New York accent and was in a yellow golf cart. He was also wearing a softball team uniform. This was about 1:50 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2012.

Could not tell which NY Borough he was from as I am not that familiar with NY city accents.

why are you so quick to say that he was from New York ...I know alot of people who are from other states and they shouldn't be driving a car or a golf cart.....I am from New York and I really didnt think you should have labeled the man a New Yorker unless you were sure...And we don't have a accent ....

From a New Yorker ....Brooklyn and queens....

I finally could safely cross Parr Drive as there was no more vehicles turing left onto Parr from Belvedere. The rude New Yorker did not bother to even stop at the stop sign on Parr just gunned it and tail gated me for a while still cursing and the like.

I got to the left hand turn going into the gate on Belvedere. I had to again stop at the stop sign and wait for three or four motor vehicles to pass.

When it was my turn the loud mouth again did not bother to stop at the stop sign but again tail gated me across Belvedere and into the golf cart entry of Belvedere gate.

He fortunately turned onto Churchill Downs but still seemed to be fuming for some reason. Kept on asking "What do you think you are doing?" in between various cuss words.

Anybody else run into this nuisance golf cart driver who yells at other golf cart drivers just because they actually stop at stop signs and yield the proper right of way?

This man seems like either an accident or heart attack waiting to happen.

He did not seem that familiar to me, i.e. I cannot think of why any Villager would act this way around me for any personal reason.

Brown haired man maybe 65ish. Loud New York City accent. Softball player. Probably lives somewhere in Belvedere. Yellow golf cart.
Why do you think he was a New Yorker he could have been from a different state.....I can name alot of states that drive golf cart that should be put in jail....next time dont be so quick to label a person....I am from New York grew up in Brooklyn ...

I can’t believe the amount of ill feelings displayed at the beginning of this thread towards the snow birds and worse the free mentioning of NYers being the culprits.
Cmon folks lets not be hostile towards each other we’re all in heaven and angels don’t behave that way.

And shame on you for being another one of those "superior in every way" full time residents. Prejudices like this, as well as those against anyone who might be from a particular state, are disgusting.

If the guy in the yellow caht was from Bahston it would not be confused with a NY accent.

Whoa, the irony is rich. So far I have counted about 5 posts calling a New Yorker rude and one for acting superior.
