House fire
A home in my neighborhood was gutted by fire yesterday. I was surprised that there was no media coverage in the paper or NewsBreak. I was interested to know the cause of the fire.

Unless deaths occur in a house fire, most newspapers don't report on them.

Village of Charlotte. We saw the black smoke at 5:40am yesterday. So sorry. It looks like a total loss.

What caused it?

Hoping to get that info. If nothing else could cause some of us to make changes to prevent our own fire.

At the POA presentation on lightning last month it was stated The Villages continues to use Corrugated Stainless Steel Tubing for gas lines. They are legal but cheapest option and they need to be properly installed. As a homeowner, you can pay to have them redone to make your house safer.

Gas lines in many TV homes run thru the attics and are flexible plastic lines. Flexible stainless steel connectors for stove and dryer are safe. To try to connect your stove with black iron if stainless steel is not safe enough and the lines in your attic are plastic.
