Anyone who'd try to rob me would be SO DISAPPOINTED! One old TV is all they would find and not want! :1rotfl: :1rotfl:

Great picture!

A friend of mine has an interesting sign: To hell with the dog. Beware of owner.

“People are people, wherever you go”. The more there are, the more the incidents. When we bought our 1st house about 10 years ago I asked the agent if there had been any murders in The Villages. He only knew of one, a love triangle. Not bad, although none is better!

When we built our 2nd home we got a security system because we were closer to the then outskirts of TV & knew some thefts occurred, particularly of building supplies & appliances. But also of patio furniture left outside of a birdcage being constructed.

Now we see more golf carts being stolen & car break ins, particularly if left overnight in your driveway. Have had friends that had their golf clubs stolen from their golf bags while having lunch as well. Bottom line for us, lock your doors, be cautious but not paranoid & don’t tempt fate. The sheriff department will tell you the same thing.

This is paradise, but not utopia. Florida has a big drug problem & we are viewed as easy targets by some.

The Villages has a lower crime rate than most of Florida but it does occur

Do you have to carry liability insurance if you fire your 38s
miss and kill an innocent bystander?

I leave the door open hoping someone takes the junk in the house.

Most houses are broken into when nobody is home, your guns are the first thing they look for it you advertise that you have them. Gun stickers on cars is another thing robbers look for.

Call MMD computers for a security system. Or, at the very least a $25 Blink camera from Best Buy or Walmart.

Back in Minnesota, when permit-t-carry became law, a lot of the businesses put up those "No Guns Allowed on These Premises" signs. They came down right quick when it became glaringly evident that THOSE were the businesses being heavily targeted by criminals.

Bad guys don't like their targets shooting back at them.

How does this work if you are gone for a few days?

Blink cameras and ones like it have motion detection (notifications sent to cell phone) and 2 way audio...You can talk to the robbers.

MMD computers. I used to install for them. Great people. Used to be my landlord too. Lol.
