She came for the Mah-jong and I came for the various music groups. Not much else goes on around here we are interested in.
People go to bed way to early! No night clubs or local pubs open till 3-4 am.
Jerry,

Take a look at this site. You may find something of interest. Don't recall too many pubs anywhere open 3-4 in the morning in all my previous travels though.

My brother lived here for 10 years, we visited several times and knew this was where we wanted to retire. After my wife and I both were retired in October 2007, we put our properties up forsale and rented a place North of TV and lived in our motorhome for six months while we shopped for a home. Now we are residents in Hadley.... love it.

Hello, MSNPA! We are from Mechanicsburg and just got back from TV where we rented a Courtyard Villa. We were "this close" to buying a home and now we keep talking, talking, talking about it. So you have no regrets about leaving PA?

DIZZ42,
Hi! I grew up in Harrisburg and lived in Shiremanstown, Mechanicsburg and Camp Hill.
Initially I was very homesick. Right away I fell in love with our house (Gardenia) , but I missed my familiar surroundings back in PA so much. As each month passed it got better. As I became more involved so did my attitude. There is so much to in The Villages. Crazy as it seems I also became more content once I found a church, doctors and a dentist. Since we moved here there are now more stores and restaurants. Day trips to Florida attractions have also helped. Now the only thing I really miss is my backyard in Camp Hill. We had a lot of wildlife which I loved watching and feeding.
Good Luck with your decision.

I also grew up in Harrisburg and have been in Mechanicsburg since the 80's. Never lived any place else but TV sure is pulling us. I can understand about feeling more at home once you found church/doc/dentist etc. Just today I had my yearly physical and I asked my doctor "Do you have any colleagues who practice in Florida?" Also, we have a small water garden in our yard and have lots of birds and squirrels. They are fun to watch.

We hope to return to TV at the end of this month for another visit. We're still working on whether it will be a Lifestyle Preview or a private rental. Thanks for your well-wishes and the best to you too.
