Google has my vote as well. Already lived here and was searching for some information about TV, and like many others, found TOTV. Just was a visitor for about a year. Then I jumped in and the water's been just fine ever since.

Pooh, I found it by accident with google too.
Looking for TV and the link to a Villages forum shows up, and before you know it, the majority of my computer time is spent on TOTV! I'd bet that unless someone told you about it, the majority found it the same way. What did we do before google?

Found it quite by accident wth a google search one day, after I already lived here over 2 years. Very happy I found it because of all the great people and a wealth of information.

I even have a folder in my favotites that I save threads to:like painting references, hardwood floors, appliances. That way I can just go back to that thread when I need information rather than search the whole forum.

Default Villages Computer Club talk by Talk Host.

Talk Host gave a spiel about TOTV at a Villages Computer Club meeting around July 27 of 2007.

That is exactly how I found it, also prior to LSP. I have told dozens of people about it, when the villages comes into the conversation. Even told two residents about it when playing golf on our LSP. I generally check in on the new threads every day - it is undoubtably the best source of information about all things villages, as well as simply entertaining stuff.

Two years ago I worked with a woman who just couldn't stop talking about The Villages. She and her husband had visited her uncle in TV and had decided that it was her destiny. I had a vague recollection of hearing about it on PGA or LPGA TV ads, but really knew nothing about it. So after listening to her for several weeks, I Googled The Villages to see what I could learn. It was on the third or fourth page where I found TOTV. I joined TOTV and arranged for a five day Lifestyle Preview visit, and the rest is history (or is becoming history - I'm not there yet - but I'll get there).

I was an early adopter as in march 2007. I don't remember exactly how I found it but I think someone was handing out flyers or business cards at the square. In the early days you could read a days posts in about five minutes.

Not anymore.....

My wife and I were visiting in Orlando and drove up to see TV. Long story, but after a couple more trips within 2 weeks, we bought property and when we went back to Orlando that evening, I Googled "The Villages Florida" and that's where I found TOTV. That was in May of this year and as soon as we sell our house, we're gonna be frogs.

I was in Goggle at work when I was looking for information about the ratings for retirement communities and came across an ad for an e-book, "Complete Guide to The Villages" by a Ryan Eiserman. He also sends a hard copy in addition to the puchase of the e-book with updates but I haven't received an update yet.

The best update is being on TOTV with all the members who share information!!!!!

I had been on a LSV in 2007 and heard nothing about while I was there.

The book listed the web site in it's information. best investment I ever made until I buy something in TV.

Can't wait till I'm a frog.

Thank you all for the responses. It's always interesting to find out how people you share time with, find the arena where you do.

Pooh,

I was so thrilled to just get home after a long day out here and there, to see your post! Besides being thrilled about the nice things you said about me, I was tickled pink and surprised for a split second-- then not-- that you quoted Peabody and Sherman. I adored Peabody and Sherman! Rocky and Bullwinkle too. I should not have been surprised, since we found so much in common.

For those of you who haven't met Pooh, you must! She's terrific! The great thing was, we met and it immediately felt like I had known her all my life! We talked ourselves blue in the hair.

Oh, the topic of this thread. What was it?

Oh yeah, how we discovered TOTV. Like most, I googled The Villages and found a link. It was shortly after our first visit. I lurked, but not for long. I found the posters too nice, smart, friendly and funny to not be drawn in. Most of the people I've met in TV I met first on TOTV. I could make a long list of TOTVers I loved and admired before we met. I can honestly say that each and every one I have met so far is even better in person. The real deal. There are quite a few I would like to get to know better. I'm sure many of you have had the same experience. Think about that. Isn't it amazing!

For these reasons, I don't think I can begin to express how much I love this site and how much I love TV!

After I learned about The Villages and visited here for a few hours one day in January 2008, I decided to do a Google search online to find more information about The Villages. I started checking out each of the links I found on the first couple of pages and eventually came across TOTV.

When I first heard of TV, of course I went to thevillages.com. When I saw that it did not include a community forum, I went looking specifically for one. A search for "the villages forum" was all it took... TOTV was/is at the top of the list.

Ah, thank you, Sweetie, you're very special and I love ya to pieces. Anyone who loves Rocky and Bullwinkle, Peabody and Sherman, Boris and Natasha, is a good friend of mine...
