Village of Caroline many streets were named after small towns in North and South Carolina. Kind of cool! Some streets I observed are named after Property of The Villages sales agents and other Village employees. As noted, The Developer makes the call.

I wouldn’t even look at a house if the street name was too stupid. You live with it on every document and application. Most are fine, but some……???

Right? I see these addresses up in the northern area that are numbered and then named! Who wants to recite "12324 187th terrace Pine st" every time someone needs your address!

I wouldn't look at a house if I found out the neighbors were too stupid. You live with them every day, whether you have documents or not. Most are fine, but some.........................................????? ????????????????????????????????

Meanwhile - to answer the question asked:

It appears that the naming of the roads is dependent on the village in question. Over on the Historic side, many of the roads were named in honor of the Schwartz and Tarrson families, such as roads bearing the founders' names, Boone Court (a Schwartz family member), and Kiley. In addition some were named for the owners of the properties that were there before they developed the trailer park that became The Villages. Bowersox Road, to my knowledge, was named after the Bowersox farm that occupied much of the land there. One section of the Historic Section was named after flowers. Magnolia, Orchid, Daffodil, etc. Another has roads named for famous golf courses, such as St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, and Cyprus Point.

In the Spanish Springs area, it looks like they picked random spanish words and phrases that sounded good without much thought to their meaning. Agua way, is not along the edge of any waterway or retention pond. Rio Grande Avenue is not near any rivers, grand or otherwise. Loma Paseo drive isn't on a hill.

At least you don't have to use your Village name on your address ... who would want "Chitty Chatty" on most every document in their life?

(I had a real estate developer friend, years ago. Built a little small development for his family. Named the street "Easy Street".)

That’s Marion county, naming method.

I want to live on "This" street, but not on "That" street.

Oh! And definitely not on "Whatever" way.

And they use a mix of Street suffex: Trail, Avenue, Parkway, Boulevard, Drive, Street, Road, Lane, Court, Loop, Circle, Run, Place, Path, Terrace, Way, ...

Some are a clue for how the street routes.

Our sales agent told us that most of the Villages streets named in the past few years were last names of the Villages employees including some sales agents.
