Wife and I have been renting through winter high season for over 20 years, and never met any hostility, or snyde remarks to our face.
Some complain on TOTV about renters, and some have probably complained behind our back. If no renters, and all houses were occupied 24/7/365 same people would be bitching about overcrowding. Shops and restaurants love us! ![]() |

It would be easier to put a pan of water in your oven, turn the oven on and crawl in, lol. I wouldn’t waste my time or money personally. The heat is not pleasant in July normally and there’s always a good possibility of hurricanes. From late October to November through April would be my choice. Good luck on your decision.

The viral infection rates are low in Florida and the try-county area today.
Opening up of rentals to will increase the flight from heavily infected areas such as New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey to TV. So, I expect there will be a second wave in the villages based on the lack of masks and social distancing that I have observed in the past few days. If you are from an area with few cases of COVID-19 you might want to stay at home. The people in the real estate business will say “Come On Down” but I plan to take a vacation from TV to a place like Montana where the COVID-19 rates are low. . |

Oh I so agree with you. First time I'm here for various reasons after memorial day. I hate heat - I'm one of those that will never acclimate. For those who want to experience this - warm the oven to 350 degrees F and stick your head into it. It's the same feeling as opening the front door after 9 AM.

Craig, I have absolutely no issue with anyone from anywhere coming here to rent, especially in the summer.
But there was a recent thread here about an owner coming down from New York to, as I recall, perform some maintenance on his home, and a couple of posters were ready to get out the pitchforks. As long as you follow whatever the current recommendations are for face covering and social distancing, I don't think people here will challenge you in public, renter or not, Ohio or not. Opinions on masks and crowds have become quite divisive and IMO, it's easiest to simply take the path of least resistance. If it's something you feel strongly about taking a stance against, perhaps be prepared for some mild blowback. |
