We are not full time FROGS (yet) and noticed on this trip back to TV that our water pressure in our master bathroom shower is not strong. The pressure in our guest bathroom shower is a little stronger.
Any (free) advise before we call a plumber? Ok no free advise to just shower in the guest one ![]() LillyD Last edited by Blessed2BNTV; 01-05-2013 at 03:01 PM. Reason: Added a word |

X2, The Fed. gov. Has restrictions on how much water can flow from you fixtures. I believe it is 2.5 gal/min. To do this they make the fixture mfg. put restrictors in them to reduce the flow. I had this problem on a kitchen faucet and a plumber friend told me to take the head off and remove the restrictor and it almost doubled the water flow.
Also as mentioned, on new homes especially, there can be trash in the water lines that clog the screen and make it even worse. Take out the restrictor plate and it will flow much better. EB |

I've been removing the little restrictors for years. I even use my Leatherman and remove it on cruise ships. I fail to see how much water I can be saving when it takes twice as long to take a shower.

If you have a water filter on the house, it may be time to change the filter. Usually about every 3 months is the timeframe.
Just a thought. |

Like someone said, could be shower head if its old!!!!! Holes get clogged from iron in water etc. If you go to "Do it Yourself" thread, I think there was a thread on that very subject a while back. Goodluck

This is a new shower head purchased in October. Since we are part timers, been here only several weekends we are perplexed since it was fine on our last visit.
We have the same shower head in guest bath and it works fine. Husband going to take it apart and we may be taking a trip to Home Depot for a new one. Thanks to all that responded! Last edited by Blessed2BNTV; 01-06-2013 at 08:49 AM. Reason: Misspelling |
