Default Whirlpool Appliance Problems

Hey there fellow villagers.
Is any one but me having issues with their new Whirlpool appliances?
1st There was a problem with the microwave oven in Dec.
That was fixed promptly Hats off!..
Now in the past 2 weeks my automatic ice maker needs to be reset no less that 5 times a day or no ice.
There is an internal on off switch located just behind the ice storage bin..
I Called service they scheduled an appointment for the next day
again hats off!..
The explanation from the service tech to resolve my issue was not what i really expected. He told me there was no adjustment and the actions of opening and closing the freezer door causes the switch to move to the off position.
Just place a piece of tape over the switch in the on position was his resolution.
3rd . The refrigerator side constantly has moisture buildup inside everything is wet.His comment was were opening the door to many times humidity was the issue
I'm going to call home warranty my one year is almost up i don't think i should have to live with an appliance that's not functioning properly..Just wondering is it only me or are there others ?

Thanks

I have a 6 plex rental property in Lexington that i'm converting to condominiums.I'm removing all the old appliances while remodeling the kitchens. The refrigerators and stoves were all 35 year old GE's.They just don't make appliances like they use to,if you get 15 years your doing terrific.Whatever happened to the pride and workmanship in building something that really last?

I have a Whirlpool washer that takes a good two minutes for the water to start flowing. Just had my inspection, but the inspector said to call Whirlpool, which I will do. BTW, Villagers have a two year Whirlpool warranty on all appliances, not one.

We'll be trading or selling those appliances that come in the new house. Have a Whirlpool stove in the leased property and HATE it. Doesn't cook right. Same appliances in the spec we're buying but in stainless. Soooo....I have heard if you havne't used them there is a person who will buy them from you. Gonna do that and a GE stove and whatever else fits the bill.

Whirlpool and kenmore have never had a good run with us.

My parents had a similar problem with the ice maker. If your freezer comes with an infrared sensor also known as a micro computer, and if that is the switch that needs to be taped up then the micro computer needs to be replaced. Tape??? Really??? How about a band aid?

How about FIXING the problem!!!! That's what I would say.

Good luck with this.

Just closed in July in Sanibel. The appliances were extended to a 2 year warranty. We were given a Whirlpool extended warranty number that supposedly covers all the appliance. Assume everyone is getting this now?

The appliances that "used to be" were probably made in USA, i'll bet the Whirlpool ones are made in China, so that's what happened to "pride and workmanship!"

Default Ge appliances

When we bought our house, said we had the best GE offered as an upgrade. Well, 6mo-dryer died, was fixed but only lasted 8 month, then the washer went out. Refrigerator had to be reset nearly every week (unplug it for about a minute) then would work again. The techs could never fix it. The range was ok except oven temp was off 80 degrees. Replaced all with Samsung, has been 4 years and no problems with any of them.

We are also having issues. We have KitchenAid (owned by Whirlpool). We had the same problem with moisture building up in the refrigerator; our fridge has a switch in it that just needed to be reset. Problem corrected.
The dishwasher just totally failed; turned out to be the entire control board had to be replaced.
Our biggest issue is with our oven. We had to have the thermostat replaced immediately; 350 degrees was really 415 degrees and everything burned/overlooked. We had service out just today because the oven gives off a lot of heat; we were told today that OUTER surfaces on the oven could get as hot as 183 degrees and this was considered acceptable. If you are cooking anything that gives off moisture, steam escapes from the oven and makes the door handle very wet and very hot; this is considered part of the design and we were told to cover foods that give off moisture (LOL). The side issue with this is that the moisture drips down between the inside and outside glass on the door; this is impossible to clean.
Neither The Villages, DelAir, or Whirlpool have been of any assistance. suggestions welcome.
