Parking in tv is real pain! I have a F250 which too high to go in the garage and street rod. I also have a Range Rover and 300sl Mercedes that are still at my farm in Va.

A 2011 built masonry CYV (Woodlawn/Durham model) small suv and one golf cart in a 1-1/2 car garage looks like this. Every inch of the garage must be used, plus Tim Miller who installed our attic steps 9 years ago, also did 100 sf of plywood in the attic for storage.

Have 1 F-150 Crew Cab (wife's), 1 Explorer (mine), 3 Corvettes (my play cars), 1 64 Impala 409 (wife's) and one golf cart -- only regularly drive the Explorer and the truck. One Vette is in my garage, the Impala is in my next door neighbor's garage along with the golf cart (they come here about 3 months a year and only use a golf cart), the other two Vettes are stored at my mechanic's place in Summerfield and the Explorer and F-150 are parked in the driveway. If anything were to go, it would be the golf cart!

Speaking for myself! I only had one car & a golf cart. An extra car (auto) is great but not to drive totally in town, in town driving is harder on a car engine than highway driving, that's why I owned a golf cart. But it is always nice to have an extra car in case of an emergency. In town driving just makes the oil in your car get very sludgy & causes it to over heat. I know someone will disagree with me but after working in a auto engine plant for 38 yrs. & working in a Dyno Lab you learn a few things. This is just my opinion, so if you don't agree, that's OK buy another car & you can maintain it. 2 cars are nice if you can afford it. I like 1 car & 1 golf cart!

If post upsets you, you do not have to respond. You seem fearful of someone asking if you kept all of your cars when retiring. Not a National Secret

Thanks everyone! At this point, if we moved to TV tomorrow, I think we would bring 2 vehicles with us -- a pick up and a small SUV. And we would most likely buy a golf cart once we got there. I was just trying to figure out the logistics of how we would park the vehicles along with the logistics of having our young adult sons come to visit us.
We have dogs, so we require a fenced in yard. I'm leaning towards a 3 bedroom CYV at this point. This is all sight unseen. We haven't even visited TV, yet. Your answers have all been very helpful. Thank you! |

2 cars and a golf cart in a stretched both ways garage. Zero vehicles in a 9 car storage building that’s attached to the house/garage.

Am I the only one who thinks responding to this thread with so much detail (especially about where vehicles are stored) is a bad idea? Why would you announce on a public forum like this that your vehicles are parked out in the open? Just seems like you might be asking for trouble. I have enjoyed the comments about the Lamborghinis, mules and storing at Ocala airport, however.
