Default Red Fox/Gray Fox H2O gone

Had not played Grey Fox Executive in a long time, observed the other day that all the water features are now just about dried up. Invasive plants of all types have taken over the entire length, width, and depth of designed areas on both courses. Other water features enroute from Rt.44 South look to be “topped off”. Wonder what happened as the Fenny Spring is close to those courses.

Maybe very little rain has something to do with it? It's drying up on all the courses. According to future weather it looks like the rainy season will finally get here next week

I'm not sure about the golf course ponds but they are taking water out of the ponds in Fenney and diverting it over to the new Hammocks of Fenney ponds which is BS as it's hard enough to maintain these ponds with drought conditions and irrigation without having the water diverted to another village. If the golf course ponds are empty or low they are probably also using the Fenney ponds to irrigate the courses which again is BS.

in those ponds are for...to water areas that need it. They aren't concerned about "maintaining ponds" as they are water retention areas for grass and other plants.

I agree that they are for irrigation and we were told that when we bought a water lot also told they are not guaranteed to hold water. Taking water from a residential pond to irrigate a golf course was not part of the deal nor was transporting it to other villages just to fill there ponds to sell lots. I had the pond management guy come out and he gave me a song and dance stating that "HE WAS TOLD" that they pump out about 150,000 gallons each night and pump it back in the next morning. That is a crock as since he was here the pond has gone down daily and never went back up. This never happened until they started building Hammock.

Welcome to The Villages. I've noticed that 99.9% of your posts are defending your "area". And good for you, I'm not condemning you for that at all. But you are now experiencing what TV cares about and it is not you or any other homeowner. The new generation of devolopers do not give two toots about you. And the same thing you see about them deserting (screwing over) people in the north section will, or already is, happening to you.
Don't care to leave, I'm enjoying my life. But I also don't have my head in the sand or nose up an arse as far as the developer is concerned. I have to laugh at the nose up the arse crowd who say "look what he gave us". OMG, are you that stupid?
The developers didn't GIVE ANYTHING TO YOU! They made a killing off of you, and while you can enjoy the lifestyle, don't ever think for a second that the new generation won't screw you over for a dollar.
I live my great life with eyes wide open and my nose not planted in blind admiration. But that's why I retired at 50 and didn't have to count on a rich spouse to pay my way to TV.

I too retired very early in life, a little oder than you at 55. One good thing the developers did for me was to give one hell of a deal on a new home when they first opened Fenney. True, a lot of my posts are defending the southern villages, defending the obvious uneducated posts and even lies that people put out there bashing us down here, most of them knew nothing about living here and a lot of them were never even down here. That bashing has finally slowed down as most now realize that this is the place to be and 30% of our residents moved here from the northern villages. I'm not happy with what is going on with pond management but the rainy season is coming and soon Hammock will be completed and their ponds will be filled so that they can be lowered to fill ponds in the next village south. Having this one complaint about what is going on in 4 years isn't too bad and for sure not bad enough to make me even consider not living here.

Yep, you could always go to one of those other Retirement Communities where they only give you pickleball and a pool and they will make a smaller killing off of you and they will only screw you over for about 75 cents.

Our retention pond was filled for three months and then they transferred the water somewhere in 3 days the pond was dry. Wondering if there is a map showing the interconnection of all the retention ponds?

The water belongs to the developer and they allocate and use the water as they see fit. They can move it virtually anywhere in TV. After 5 inches of rain, things will be back to normal. This happens every year.
