Default How wheelchair accessible is the Villages?

How wheelchair accessible is the Villages? I am thinking of a manual folding wheelchair. From some pictures I have seen it looks like the villages do not have sidewalks. How do you go from your home to nearby neighbors? Use the street? Can the golf cart paths be used? Do many residents transport the manual wheelchairs in their golf carts? Is there any modifications needed to the golf cart?

The Villages is VERY wheelchair accessible. You can use the sidewalks where there are sidewalks, or the cart paths throughout The Villages. Most of the streets have dedicateed lanes for bikes and golf carts and these can be used for wheelchairs. All the buildings are handicap accessible, also. You shouldn't have any problem getting around to do whatever you need to do whether it is grocery shopping, going to the doctor, enjoying the town squares or just visiting your neighbors.

Every curb has cuts, most of the time there are no threshholds in the public buildings. You will have no problems with a manual wheelchair.
