Hubby and I took a ride along Morse Blvd to 441, with a drive through LSL and then Spanish Springs on the way home. There are not too many large trees or tree limbs down but the amount of palm fronds debris is going to keep the landscape crews very busy. The palm trees that have all their dead fronds hanging all the time are the biggest offenders. Those fronds are everywhere and lying in piles.

The town squares are so littered with the fronds, it is sad to see. Having said that, all the buildings are in perfect shape from what we could see.

We dodged a bullet here with this monster storm. It's comforting living in the center of the state where the hurricanes have a tendency to peter out by the time they get here. I'm very thankful we didn't have tornadoes in the area to cause lots of damage.

Don't understand the more hype regarding going out in The Villages? We also took a ride around and other than some fonds from the Palm Trees and 3 trees uprooted it was normal. There have been some attempts to tell the residents to not go out because of "fallen wires". Am I missing something or are the wires, "under the ground"?We did see one tunnel that not passable because of water (tunnel at the gate directly across from Winfred) The reason I raise this concern is that when unrealistic rules are put out and people recognize them as not reasonable they tend to then ignore rules when it is a problem that should be adhered to.!! I have been watching a number of Cars and Carts on the road and that is the basis for my note. There is a rule that says just because you can do something does not mean you should

Went to Palmer for dinner. The golf cart path along Buena Vista was a mess of debris and standing water. Spanish moss everywhere. But eating outside was like an oasis of tranquility.

See my OP about "It's time to start trimming the palm fronds". What in the hell are those things good for except to be unsightly, become dangerous projectiles when the wind blows and harbor pests? NOTHING. It's time for TV to spend some coin and keep the palms trimmed.

Anyplace where there are the large oak trees there is a mess.
Many with major limbs across roads.
Tons of small limbs scattered all over.
And more than tons of moss everywhere nearby the tree.

If you have a magnolia tree, you'll know what we did today. Raked leaves!! They are pretty but sure can be a mess!
