It is nice that this new thread has been started, not because we can't/shouldn't post our opinions, or the negatives should be avoided, etc., but because it is informational rather than judgemental to those of us who haven't been to the market, to learn what people have gotten there that they like. I agree the original Health Hazard post had a connotation in its title such that it would put people off who were just trying to find out what all the market sells.

Now dang, I'm going to have to give up Picklle Ball one Saturday a month to go there. Maybe I'll wait till April when it might be less crowded.

We went to the Farmers Market this morning for the first time. I was expecting a few tables of produce, what a great surprise! They have so much stuff, more like a Flea Market. We even ordered a couple of climbing bougainvilleas. The place was crowded, lots of happy people, lot of fresh produce, crafts, jewellery, gifty items, good vibe!

Great place. We get great tasting tomatoes every week. I look forward to the coffee of the week from the coffee vendor. My wife made friends with another vendor and does crafts with her now. We chatted with another vendor and found that they have great fresh, free range eggs on their farm. When we visited the farm, sure enough, there were the chickens happily pecking around in a field. The Brownwood market is definitely a fantastic addition to our lifestyle here in TV. Its good to meet the people who actually grow our food. No negatives here.

I really look forward to Saturday mornings at Brownwood! The tomatoes I got last week were exceptionally good, and it is hard to find really good tomatoes anywhere here. Everyone is so friendly and it is a nice feeling to give local business to those working hard to grow healthy food to sell.

You know, all that negative energy radiating through some folks is really not healthy. They could use a dose of local vitamins to counteract the damage!

Can you tell us where the farm is? I learned about this farm last year before the market moved from Wildwood to Brownwood, but I can't remember where it is.

We also love the farmers market, and I am glad it moved to Brownwood. We went a lot when it was in Wildwood, and the venue there was beautiful too. But I imagine the vendors get more traffic in Brownwood. I think there's a great selection. I noticed something new last week, one of the vendors had signs above each item saying where it came from...loved that.

There is at least one vendor (may be more) that have organic food.

Living Towers: Brownwood Saturday Farmers Market

If you take the street toward the left (parallel to Rt. 44) as you pass the theater from the parking lot, you'll see the vendor shown in the picture (at above link) on the left side of the street.

Absolutely Gracie. We find the market very nice and even enjoy the stroll around the square. Providing facts for others to consider is one thing; however, being slanderous without fact is not PC, it is just uncalled for. The variety of threads and posts on this very board give proof to how wide interpretations of what are or are not PC. The current administration has stepped in and made it clear that TOTV is not a political arena and will not be used for that purpose. Speaking for myself, I have been on this board for years and find it a much better place to find information and share ideas due to their action. Thanks Admin.

We are finally coming down to TV this Tuesday from up North and are looking forward to our first visit to the farmers market at Brownwood. Have heard so many positive comments. We hesitate to buy from Market at Marion especially now that we have Brownwood for a weekly visit. Also, I am only allowed to shop and buy with a list....
