CBS just said the eye will be going right over The Villages.

Huh? When did this change?

The bad news, in my non-technical opinion, is that it looks to me that it is veering a bit to the right and might be headed straight north up the peninsula...like was predicted a couple of days ago.

I guess the other good news if it does do that, is the fact that it will be over land and not likely to gain strength.

The bad news for us would be......

I think this has been the slowest moving storm ever.

Feel like I've been worrying for a week! 😳

Tony Manolfi from WESH 2 now predicts Irma to maintain due north with the eyewall driving through the Lake/Orange County line.
As per the original prediction up the spine of Fl

This thing is wobbling all over the place. Bottom line is we will be somewhere near what's left of the eye overnight. I still think we'll be dealing with a CAT 1 and winds gusting to 65mph. Should still be outta here by mid day tomorrow. Stay safe.

At 10PM WFTV has it going north, heading of about 350 degrees and will closely pass to the east of us...

I'm finding Channel 9 is now doing a great job. Since landfall Irma has tracked a straight path, channel 9 has drawn a straight line north of what the projected path would be. It would be in Lake County just east of TV, probably over Fruitland Park heading due north. If that is the case, we'll get part of the eye wall but we'll be more to the left of the eye and the better side, if there is such a thing.

"...Lake County just east of TV, probably over Fruitland Park heading due north..."

Would that not track right over the historic section villages?

We live in LaBelle and just saw the sky put on a show like the Northern Lights. It went from fuchsia to a glowing turquoise

Channel 9 just put up a new track since Irma has turned slightly west. It appears now it will pass directly over TV at 2am at 95mph. On that heading it would pass just west of Ocala and probably effect a lot those communities on Route 200 in Marion County.
