Interesting read, be mindful softeners don't remove these chemicals only filtration with carbon or Reverse Osmosis filters.
Forever chemicals could be in some 45% of U.S. tap water, USGS estimates : NPR Last edited by Nova Filtration; 07-17-2023 at 07:58 AM. |

I usually cringe when I see Advertising on this site, but not in this case.
The dangers of PFAS in water supplies is real. The EPA & the State of Florida, do not test public (or private) water supplies for PFAS as of yet (it's coming soon). I don't have a NOVA water system and know nothing about them. That said, I manage a few Public Water supplies in MA and we are required by the state to test for and treat PFAS. So I know a little about it. The original post is accurate, in that Reverse Osmosis and Activated Carbon are the 2 known, reasonably efficient ways to remove PFAS from your drinking water. It's sort of interesting to note, tests show that a huge % of "Bottled Water" sold to the public, also contain PFAS. For those who are interested, the movie "Dark Waters" will give you some insight into how scary PFAS is .. & it's a decent movie. (Dark Waters (2019 film) - Wikipedia.) |

Seems as if there is no lack of things to be terrified of.
...If, of course, you're of a mind to buy them. But I'm not. |

“The Devil we know” is also a good documentary about PFAS. So if you’ve eaten food from a Teflon non stick pan amongst other things, it’s floating around your blood stream.
The stuff that these big companies get away with….. |

Seems everything is working as intended. Manufacturers and drilling/mining operations pollute the waters, and make lots of money at risk of the consumer's health. And then other companies come up with the solutions to the health risks by way of water filtration systems, and make lots of money. And the industry lobbyists pay the government officials to ensure that there are few regulations, to keep the money flowing.
Capitalism at work, nothing to see here. |

If you look at my NOVA filters when they are changed everyone would want this system. Filter 1 was totally orange filthy, 2 and 3 looked like I could reuse them. Plus the chlorine smell is gone!
