That applies to driving anywhere.

Well, I've seen some pretty stupid stuff myself. However, I have to admit, when I have spent several weeks not driving a car in TV, just driving the golf car, I can get a might confused. Case in point: I live near SeaBreeze. I drive my golf car to SeaBreeze a lot. Pickle, swim, or anytime I need to conduct some business at a Regional Rec Center, that's my "go to". So for some reason I am driving the wife's car, with the wife, to SeaBreeze and darn if I don't start to turn into SeaBreeze in front of the gate, where the MMP is. I think I would have figured out I don't fit, but before my brain figured it out on its own, the wife's scream alerted me that I was fu@*king something up...Saved by the bell.
To make matters somewhat funny, this was before we registered her car in Florida, so it still had the NY plates on it, so I'm sure the car behind me made some inaccurate conclusion about the experience level of the driver.

Conversely, if I've been driving the car a lot, I've found myself driving the golf car in the middle of the car lane on Bailey Trail, as if I were an automobile. Watch out for me now, and just wait another 10 years. You'll be writing threads about me.

Are you sure we are not writing threads about you now?

Of all the places I have ever driven, the Villages is by far the worst (including Boston, where Massholes dominate the road). Older people have diminished reflexes, vision, hearing, cognitive function, etc….. Lots of people are driving around who absolutely should not be behind the wheel of either a car or golf cart. I get it, giving up the independence of driving is very difficult and I dread the day when I have to make that decision and will probably stay behind a wheel longer than I should.

To make matters worse, Villagers have a revolving door of visitors driving golf carts who don’t understand the intricacies of using a golf cart as a form of transportation versus driving on a golf course. There is definitely a steep learning curve for new Villages when it comes to learning how to get around safely via golf cart, and visitors typically are out of here before they figure it out.

I now have a driving video cam going all the time when driving in FL or on long trips. Never know when someone is going to perform a TV book of elderly records qualifying event.

It's clowns like this that contribute to their own demise. I'm not advocating violence, but we have a lot of short-tempered people in our community, many of whom have a concealed carry permit. They don't even have to be residents, just people with low frustration levels, and before you know it the violator texteth no more..

My fav is the people that just step off the curb in the shopping, as if the drivers are responsible For their safety

100 % correct. The worst are who i call the circle kamikaze drivers. They will speed up to cut across you in the circle like it was the indy 500.
Best approach i use is never drive parallel to any driver. Either be in front or behind them
