If I were selling a handgun, I would also require the buyer to have a current concealed carry permit in Florida. That way, you know the buyer has a legal right to own a firearm.
July 1 no concealed carry license required; however, FL laws on purchases must still be followed. Not sure how private sales are conducted according to FL law. New purchases will still require background check, 3 day waiting period I had read recently.

Most importantly what goes up must come down. A man died on New Years Eve in Orlando years ago. Some idiot decided to shoot his gun up into the air to celebrate. The bullet came down a couple blocks away and hit a man in the back of his head. You cannot just shoot a shotgun in T V.

Personally I can't watch the circle of life on tv relevant to animals so I get the OP's compassion for the sweet little birds; but a shot gun is not the answer.

We also have a nice bird feeder in our front yard. They and other birds love it.

But. Yesterday we saw a Hawk loitering around, and in the afternoon had a little bird in his mouth on our driveway and then finally flew off. We’ve seen Hawks before but never one with (one of our birds) for lunch. Yuck.

Yes, it’s nature and circle of life, but….

If I see another Hawk nearby I may go out to get a shotgun. Gotta protect our little birdies.

Any idea in how to get rid of Hawks?
We love animals and birds and I need to go get a shotgun to kill the hawk don’t belong in the same post.

If you shoot the hawk you may end up in jail.

You want to shoot a hawk to protect a bunch of hot-blooded sparrows making ten broods of chicks per year? They are probably on welfare, anyway. That hawk is doing the world a favor.

“The Circle of Life,” is just a polite, euphemistic way of saying “The Circle of Death.” Shoot the sparrows instead.

The 3 day waiting period is a Florida law that has been in effect for about a two years or so. The background check is a Federal law that only applies to purchases from a licensed firearm dealer.

Guns are on open display with pots and pans at the Webster flea market. Cash and carry.

It might get worse. On a prior thread here on the subject of bird feeders - a poster (I forget who) commented that they had to take their bird feeders down, once the hawks realized an open buffet was on offer.

Are you calling the gun rule posters stupid?

OP has a bird feeder and complains when it provides food for a bird. Go figure.
