Hi everyone, we are soon-to-be-villagers.

We are building a home that backs up to a pond and preserve and would like to make the most of the views.
We plan to add another sliding glass door to the stackable doors, a large window in the master BR and glass enclose the lanai.

Would an extended Lanai impact the views from the LR?
What have you done to improve the views from within your home's living room and Lanai?

We found last summer that our lanai got very hot during the heat of the day so we converted it into a Florida room so we can get more use out of it.

Lot of thoughts on this. In our case we rarely sit in our living room, we use the lanai which is enclosed and has a great water view or our den. I don't think anything you are suggesting would help other than the view from your master bedroom and that is assuming that the neighbors on either side of you don't decide to extend their living area with a pool and birdcage. Personally I would wait until you are in and see what plans your neighbors have as pools will have a huge impact on your privacy as well as your view, plus noise from the pumps.
