Default Indoor pool

Does anyone have information about what THE VILLAGES are going to do about supporting our need for at least one indoor pool somewhere? This is a big deal to many. Also competing adult communities offer wonderful indoor pools for those so inclined. I'm one of them. Love it as I get older.

Any news?

Default Indoor Pool

At a Freedom Pointe presentation we learned that they will have a Wellness Center and Indoor Pool. Since Freedom Pointe Residents will be able to use Villages Amenities, maybe we will be allowed to use Freedom Pointe's Amenities. Forget about it, this is probably not a reciprocal arrangement.

I read in the Daily Sun a private invester was trying to reopen the pool. There were only around 75 people that were interested.....way short of the number to make it work.
That kind of response doesn't look like a big deal.

In TV on El Camino Real near the Hospital.

An assisted living complex - don't think they will be using many amenities.

Stonecrest has a large indoor pool, maybe they might be willing to share.

Freedom Pointe..... residents will be paying Villages amenity fees and thus will get use of amenities. Whether you agree with the decision to allow this or not, at least they are paying.

I played golf with a lady who is buying in to Freedom Pointe.... I asked her about the composition of residents..... she said, to her knowledge, that all but one of the units has been bought by someone already living in The Villages. So, naturally, they would like to continue to enjoy the amenities. That could be you one of these days. The house/villa/yard gets to be too much and you want the independent/assisted lifestyle but don't want to give up TV's golf, social clubs/rec centers, etc.

In my way of thinking, they pay the full amenity fee but probably, over time, will use facilities less and less. The only downside is that FP is located in an older area that does not have as many golf courses, pools, rec centers, etc as the newer sections so it might further crowd an already congested area. But, as noted earlier they will have their own indoor pool and fitness center.

As far as Villages residents being able to use their pool.... give them time to open up and see how their residents use the facilities. I'm sure if it's economically viable for them to sell indoor pool memberships without impacting their residents they would do so.

Well stated as always V7!

Let's remember that the old indoor pool at the wellness center was membership only and not part of the amenity fee.

That's not to say that if another private for profit company feels that an indoor pool would be successful that I wouldn't like to see one. Basically the developer never felt that an indoor pool would make much sense as a drawing card and therefore never designed one into the plans. As always the residents can and should voice their opinion, I just wouldn't hold my breath (pun intended).
